Any ideas?

No idea how, but my browser has been hijacked by www.searchweb2.com (don't click on it). I have no prior knowledge of this company, I have not knowlingly allowed it to be installed. It adds to my favourites and admits in it's small print that it monitors my internet usage.

It refuses to be deleted, and resets as my home page every time I change it to something else. Ad-Aware can't get rid of it and Norton Anti Virus sweep brings up nothing.

How the hell do these things work? What right have they got to do this? How do I get rid?

Any advice (sensible!) would be great as this is seriously pissing me off. I have just fired off a sh*tty email to them telling them I shall report them to my ISP and I will also report them to the Data Protection people.

Glad I don't have kids etc, as yesterday it decided to inflict a tool bar including 'Girl's 1st cock'! (Would be quite amusing if I wasn't so angry)

These things are a pain in the neck. I don't get them but my kids do all the time on their machine and they take forever to remove sometimes.

One of the problems is that they install themselves early on when you boot so just trying to delete the folder they are in doesn't always work. The way that worked for me last time was this (assumes you are running XP):

Run Ad-Aware. Note what folder the files that Ad-Aware can't delete are in.
Set Ad-Aware to try to remove them again when you reboot.
Reboot the machine.
As soon as Ad-Aware starts to re-scan when you reboot, press Alt-Ctrl-Del.
Select File
Select New Task (Run...)
Select Browse
Find the folder with those pesky files in and delete it.
Click Cancel
Close Task Manager Box
Let Ad-Aware finish its scan.
Wait for reboot to finish loading the programs.
Run HijackThis! and remove any references to Searchweb and the toolbar.

This worked for me in the case I had but I can't say it won't mess things up for you. Try it at your own risk.
