Don't get too excited, the announcement was supposed to read as part of a cost cutting exercise Sami Hyypia has revealed that his new goalkeeping coach will be his Aunty Naomi.

It's a bit sad but when I was around 12/13 years old playing in goal, he was at Southampton and was one of my favourite keepers and a bit of an idol!

Finland's answer to David Beckham in the briefs-modelling stakes :lolol:
Already given notice to VVV Venlo that he is leaving.
The new ladies man. VVV would know he is leaving as we will pay an undisclosed fee as he still has a year on his contract there.

Maybe we are doing a swap deal with Agustien returning to Holland as has been rumoured.

This should please some on here:

Despite announcing his retirement from the game the previous year it was confirmed on 28 July 2009 that Antti Niemi was in talks with Portsmouth. On 7 August, Niemi confirmed he had signed for Portsmouth on a one year deal as backup to David James and to work with the goalkeeping coaches.[5] On 24 March 2010, he was released from his contract, without making a single appearance in the Portsmouth's first team. It was reported that Niemi earned almost £450,000 during those eight months with Portsmouth.

In Finland there has been speculation about Niki Mäenpää becoming Brightons new goalkeeper now when Brighton has a finnish manager and a finnish goalkeeper coach as well.
Mäenpää has played in the dutch top level with VVV Venlo, but he had to play last season in the local "Championship" league when Venlo was relegated. Mäenpää has openly said that he want's to leave Venlo and that Venlo is ready to let him go.

He is the current number one goalkeeper when it comes to the finnish national team. To be honest, i think Kusczcak is a better goalie than Mäenpää, but Mäenpää is still pretty good. After all, Spain only scored one goal against him last year when Finland got a surprising 1-1 away draw against Spain in the qualifications :)

Personally I hope not, I dont personally rate the lower half of the Dutch league, some very average players out there. looks like a lot of his career he has done a job but then soon replaced.
