Right wingers hate Britain.

They constantly moan about it...the people are sheep..the leaders are middle class liberal metrosomething or other haha....the media hates the country....the only people who should have a say are the salt of the earth racists, homophobes, and mysoginists.

I've been watching a fair few interviews with Nigel Farage over the past few days and I've come to the conclusion that he could actually be a fair political figure. Not in the party he currently presides over and he certainly needs to get his disparate group of racist, bigoted, party members under control. If he ditched UKIP and gave himself a few years to get his affairs in order he wouldn't be worth ignoring, just a shame he is in charge of a party that has shown itself time and time again to be incompetent and dis-organised. I guess he is stuck with it for the meantime.

You're joking, even Farage's teachers wouldn't let him become a prefect at Dulwich College because of his openly fascist and racist views, and was once caught at a cadet camp walking through a leafy Sussex village singing Hitler-youth songs!

But the only issue on which they "speak up for them" on is Immigration which, at best, hints at xenophobia and at worst panders to it

This is where the issues become confused with personality.

Take the Socialist Labour Party for instance, they are standing up for the common man so to speak,They also want a full withdrawal from The EU and an end to mass immigration. If you called them xenophobic you and i both know you would be laughed out of town.

The whole debate has been clouded by so much name calling its impossible to get to the central core of the issues that somewhere in there is a problem with immigration and The EU that resonates with people from all sides of the political spectrum.

Completely agree. This will continue until Thursday now.
At least your post is one of the more sensible ones today. What I want, in fact what we all need is the full facts about the EU.

I don't think a proper debate on the EU and immigration is in any way xenophobic. When however it is your central tenet / only real policy with legs you do have to wonder at what sort of people would be a member of such an organisation? The answer appears to be ones who can't help spouting xenophobic or homophobic nonsense.

I'm sure there are plenty of bigots in the Socialist Labour Party by the way including a few who'd be (faux) horrified at the suggestion.

Its not so much the policies of UKIP. Its who they have attracted. For example, the candidate for Hastings is covered in, lets be kind and say, Germanic tattoo's. If that's who you would want to put your vote with, its up to you. Myself, and many others would think, given the fact he is covered with Germanic tattoo's, would think you were a ****. That's democracy.

Spread as much crap as possible to put people of voting for UKIP. I think it's pretty sad state of affairs that politics has now been driven down to this level just a few days before voting. There is a real problem with the EU, shame some people don't want to see that part. People need to wake up a little and see how things like this can go to effect us all.

But you CAN'T vote for UKIP just because they say ONE thing that appeals to you. I'm sure Mussolini wanted the trains to run on time; Hitler wanted higher employment and a strong economy. And no I'm not implying Farridge (sounds less foreign than 'Farage') is a power-crazed fascist intent on WW3, but he is a populist politician with some horrendous prejudices, who is head of a political set-up containing some vocal mysoginists, racists, xenophobics.

I don't see how anyone can vote for them and excuse it by saying "well the EU have a lot to answer for." Frankly I don't see how anyone can vote for them.

**and I'm not aiming this at you, bashlsdir.

This thread is making me want to vote UKIP. The desperate flailing of a core number of users here is absolutely tragic. "But but but but racism!!" is not a valid alternative to critical evaluation of the statistics.

Yes, Romanians account for a lot of arrests.
No, not all arrests are justified.
No, not all Romanians are being arrested.
No, not all arrests result in conviction.
Yes, it's the same Romanians being arrested quite a lot.
Yes, Romanians are behind a lot of serious crimes such as fraud.
Yes, Romanians are arrested for a lot of really minor crimes such as begging.
Yes, Romanian gangs account for a large amount of gangs.
No, Romanian gangs do not necessarily account for a large amount of crimes.
Yes, one can be concerned about crime imported by Romanians without being racist.
No, one should not be dismissive of all Romanians as a result.
Yes, Farage blundered in his exposition.
Yes, Farage has misrepresented some facts.
No, not everything Farage says is bollocks.

Can we all go home now?
