Tennis-wise, he is building a bit of a reputation as a choker, which will be difficult to shake off.
He seems to think that becasue of one good year on the tour, he will be OK and won't need to work on his game

if this country ever produces a world class player he'll (have to )be so agressive and arrogant no one will like him anyway
BarrelofFun said:Middle class shirking a bit of hard work??
Henman coped and became one of the most consistent performers on grass. So I don't think it is a class thing at all.
It is an unfair test, as most of the British players do come from priveleged backgrounds due to a severe lack of funding on the tennis front and the sport not being open to all children/prospects.

the opposite end of the scale is getting intelligent literate footballers, Owen Hargreaves for example !
Icy Gull said:In fact most foreign players who speak English seem to be pretty switched on and let's face it Hargreaves is not really English anymore than Rusedski is, about as popular as well![]()
