Not saying there should be no minnows, but fewer of them.
A pre-qualifying competition with the minnows would help them learn how to win which would aid their development a lot more than the existing system.
The current system, with the odd exception, leads to terrible games of football with usually the minnows getting pumped. It’s been that way for years.
Reducing the number of qualifying games would also (in theory) allow elite players to take a break.Or maybe you think that’s not important ? I would say it is to maintain the quality of the premier league.
The minnows are seeded together in the Nations League with the result that San Marino not only won their first ever competitive game in October 2024 but then went on to win and score 3 goals in November 2024, the first time they have ever scored more than 1 goal in a competitive match.
We don't need pre-qualifying in the World Cup.

I was a Southgate happy clappy and I see no reason to change tonight. England won. None of our team wants to be there, they want to be on their hols in Dubai. We weren't any good but the game was won as soon as we got a goal.

It doesn't really matter how you win as long as you win.

It was a bit disappointing though. Thank god Harry Kane is good at football.

It's great to see all those English club side flags at England games.
Doncaster
Crawley
Swindon
Maidstone
Stoke
Hull
Poole Town
Chigley
Trumpton
Camberwick Green

Makes me proud to be English.
And these days you can be arrested for saying that.

I used to be in the England travel club. In fact the last match I ever went to (home or away) was Andorra in the old Espanyol ground. That was
0-0 at half time as well when McClaren got booed.

Nowadays England are up there with Palace as my most hated ‘club’

I think they’re shit and I hate their fans.

I can confirm this.
Needless to say, I had the last laugh and didn't join in.

But both chants lasted for about 15 seconds each, so really nothing for Labour diehards to lose too much political allegiance sleep over and question their support of the national team.

Radicalised twunts. GB News is their source of truth.

If you asked them WHY they think Starmer is a c**t, the knobheads probably couldn't even come up with a reason.

Why I never go to England games.
It was a few hundred at most of the 7,000. And that's probably a fair representation of those who think he is. (I don't.)

But differing political allegiances from a minority is not a reason to boycott England games IMHO.

Not sure you’ll find any top international players/coaches/fitness coaches who agree with you.

No, you're quite right. Having to endure that dirge of a national anthem in praise of a parasite is though

If true, another reason not to follow England then. I assume they also sung “Farage is a c*nt” “Davey is a c*nt” and “Badenoch is a c*nt” to reflect their broad views on the range of political ineptitude in the UK.

I stopped going to England games in around 2008. I got tired of the incessant far right misogynistic chants. I don’t imagine it has changed that much.

I agree with you and @kevo

For me, I would feel very uncomfortable sharing a crowd with suchlike.
It would be enough to stop me going to England (albeit I have probably been only 3 times ever - due to a longstanding distaste for the Great Patriots in the crowd).
It wouldn't have the same effect as an Albion attendee, were it to manifest, though.
Anyway this is the voice of autism speaking so it probably represents the views of few.
Most people seem to have thicker skin than the likes of me.

(Also......when I read the chant....despite being a Labour man and Starmer supporter.....I tittered momentarily.
My bad. :lolol: ).

Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
I normally make a cup of tea and potter about at half-time, but after watching that, I watched the adverts, which for once, I felt were riveting, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Then it went down hill again.

Although I don't wish to tar all England supporters with the same brush, England fans are the absolute worst. They are a foul representation of the worst elements of society, who use nationalistic "pride" as a reason to be xenophobic, misogynistic and occasionally racist all in the guise of supporting the lads.

Not sure I hit the mark on not tarring all England fans with the same brush....

NSC can be assured that that I've taken all viewpoints on board.

Having returned to Gatwick on Tuesday morning and prior to the Senegal friendly in Nottingham that evening, I intend to undertake a comprehensive survey of every fan attending the game and their views on UK political figures both past and present.

Once I've collated the information, I'll be able to make an informed decision about whether to attend the game based on my own centrist political leanings being in step with those others expressed.

It's the least I can do. 🙂

I need to be reassured that you have planned for all contingency.
May I see your Gantt chart?
