Right, I'll bite.

If Tuchel ends up winning a trophy for us at the very next tournament, then I'll argue it's off the back of the foundations that GS laid.

In the same way that De Zerbi's success was thanks to the foundations that Potter laid.
I would argue Tuchel's record of winning things surpasses Southgate's by a country mile.

Not crap, just very very average.
I don’t think even a Southgate fan (of which there are many because he’s such a gentlemanly chap and that’s important apparently) would claim he’s a top class manager.
We will never know if a top manager could have won us a trophy.
I fear the moment has passed as several countries that were off the boil for a while, are now strong again.
Ironically....I see no reason why we can't win something, sneery though I may be.

Back in the day we'd beat the likes of Turkey 8-0, so I'm sure all strikers have had their share of games against shit opposition.

Look at Kane's performance in Germany. Broken records and been the best player last season. He may not be able to win a game on his own like peak Rooney, but overall, he's the best we've had.
Oh, I agree he is the best we have ever picked.
I simply rate Greaves more.
And I get irritated that England (and Spurs, were I a Spud) go/went on about how great the man is.
The man who has just won his first ever trophy.
Nothing against Kane.
I just get irritated by all the drooling.

And I am VERY irritated by the present game, hence my facetious posts.
I am sat here, shaking my head and tutting.
The last thing I need is more Kane worship.

The level of sarcasm is already matching the levels achieved in Southgate's tenure.

Only this time, it's a GERMAN who is trousering £5 million a year as our manager.

I look at France and Spain alone and they have a different level of player these days.
We are still relying on a declining Harry Kane up front, while some of our better younger players have stagnated.
Also, it’ll be a tough ask to win in America, which would be the case at any point.

On the plus side, we have a pragmatic, highly skilled gaffer who only needs to think in short term which may be in our favour. And of course, we have some quality players like Bellingham, Rice and Big Dan Burn.

Well I would hope it would, considering the level of sides Tuchel has managed compared to Southgate.

A declining Kane?

Really!?

Honestly think they should have picked Potter for the England job. At least he'd have them playing decent football. What is this sh*t?

They'll learn nothing playing against such dire opposition. No test.
How so?

Even in tournament finals you'll meet teams parking the bus.

This is a good test in trying to break down and unlock such sides, surely?
