Alcohol on official coaches - How strict are they likely to be?

We booked our coach at the same time as buying our match tickets.

Obviously it's the law that there's to be no alcohol on any coach travelling to/from a sporting event (thanks Thatcher you cünt), but I'm just wondering how strict they're likely to be regarding this.

Although booked through the club, it's not like they're Costa coaches (we'll make sure of that).

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions? :)

I think it would be very unfair on your driver to flout this particular law.

He could lose his livelihood.

Just don't do it.

stop the coach 30mins from Baardiff and empty it of cans/bottles - just make sure the driver does the talking ;)

Imagine that, a coach full of Albion and then the coppers come on board and find SAFEWAY'S White Lightening. And turn the coach back.

Would make NSC interesting for the rest of that week.

They will be very strict.

The driver could have his PSV licence suspended and will alomost certainly be sacked and the coach company will be taken before the Traffic Commissioners to explain why they should keep their licence.

The South Wales Police are very bullish that they will turn round any coaches found with drink.

Its a free country isn't it how can the old bills arrest you for drinking a can of lager in the coach. As long as the driver isn't necking a can back whilst driving whats the problem ?.

Also am I right in assuming that this alcohol ban only applies to coaches with 9 or more seats. We have an 8 seater booked and therefore is it ok to have drink on this ?.

But it isn't a "free" country is it. We're supposed to obey the laws, one of which forbids drinking on the coaches.
