So where does leave us for getting into the semis going into the last group game given the other results?

By the looks of things, and there's not much info out there, Brighton would need to beat Auch to have any chance of getting to the semi-finals.

However, Auch have already beaten Aarhus 5-0, Midlands United 6-0, and WBA 7-1.

Yikes.

We have had the calculators out and we reckon we need to beat Auch by 4 clear goals. That would mean us, them and wba would all be level on 9pts. Next up is head to head. All would be level having each beaten each other. Then it would be goal difference, and we would need 4 to knock out WBA. So tall order, given the results for Auch so far. But we are not going to roll over. It is possible if we can get the ball of their number 8 and play. In open passing play we have the best team here. Defensively we have the second best record. If we get the ball out we will be able to pass around them. They really only have 2 players, so we go again for European glory tomorrow morning. Had a good training session this evening on some ideas on how we can beat them. Only disruption was the Albion scoring, when the support crew started screaming "Baldock". We can still do it, and the lads believe.

FT: Brighton 3-2 Auch

An excellent victory against the French champions. Brighton finish level on points at the top of the group, but end up third on goal difference (a typical Albion trait these days), and are eliminated.

Nonetheless, we should be exceptionally proud of the team's effort, and they've done their sport and the name of the club the world of good.

An excellent effort. Well done to the players, support staff and everyone who contributed to get the team there. There certainly did everyone proud!
