I played football with him a fair few times about 20 years ago. We were still on nodding terms when I saw him at the Amex. A very nice guy :( RIP Pete.

Oh no! I thought the name sounded a bit familiar. I don't remember him from REMF (but I only did the first match and the only keeper I remember was Dave the Gaffer who injured himself), but yes, I now remember him as 'Berkshire seagull' from NSC past and the the old sponsored games. RIP :(

EDIT: Didn't he have another username after Berkshire Seagull?
EDIT2: Seagulltonian?

I am absolutely devastated by this news

I knew Pete for many years and at the time of the REMF became great friends. We had a drink or three at the withdean before and after the matches and we would always stop and chat with each other and others at the Amex

He was such a lovely guy, open to a lot of mutual pisstaking over our mutual love of goalkeeping and he was a very good friend to Laura

RIP you lovely man taken far too soon.

Such very sad news. Only saw him at football a few weeks back. He said he was renewing his ST even tho he knew he wasn't very well. He also said he'd made plans to donate his scarf and badges to a very good home. REMF goalkeeper and a nice lad. Will miss seeing him in the North Stand. RIP Pete 😪
Hi, I'm Pete's brother Chris. I know he said he knew a lot of fans, but it has been great reading just how many people remember him. We will be organizing the funeral, and I will endeavour to put details out so people who want to can come.
I will be letting his daughter know just what the response here has been. Thanks to everyone for making this whole period ever so slightly easier.

One thing I would ask - he did say to me he'd made plans about his scarf, but then never actually told me what those plans were. Is there anyone here who knows more details? I would love to think that his scarf keeps going to the games as a sort of 'spiritual anchor'. He also wanted to do something with all his memorabilia (presumably including the pink goalkeeping shirt). Again, if he spoke to anyone, or anyone has any ideas, please do reach out to me

regards
Chris
