Personally I'd be embarrassed. Last season we had a dutch winger called Etienne Esajas, he only dived once for us, because he did it right infront of the Kop and it was so blatant half of the ground started shouting at him "GET UP YOU f***ing GIRL" and the like.

It's all relative really, I'd begrudgingly accept cheating to win if it was a playoff final or something, because you know damn well the other team would do it given the opportunity. Week in week out though? I think I'd rather be crap than get a reputation as cheats.

Fair point, but i thought your players went down far easier than ours!! Like when our left back Painter nudged your player in the back and he was rolling around "needing" treatment! I certainly haven't seen many teams that spend as much time on the floor as your players yesterday

And the Rochdale player last week didn't? Come on lads, it's football, its the norm now.

The difference being Greer lumped him one, and Mellor didn't.

If an opposition player raises his hands you are wise to fall over to avoid being sent off yourself. It is, however, not necessary to pretend you are hurt, just to sit down looking surprised is sufficient.

Behave will you? As said before, it is the done thing in football nowadays, rightly or wrongly. I also suspect there is some residual anti-El-Abd feelings behind this post - you wouldn't have done this if it was your mate Glenn rolling around. All I can say about it is if the shoe was on the other foot and El-Abd had pushed Mellor, a red card would have been shown.

He was silly to do it but why so much sh*t and negativity at a player that is fast improving and is never seen giving less than 150% in the stripes.
If i remember rightly it was the same with Oatway the fact is you need those type of players in your side or you end up limp wristed, i for one like the guy and think he is an important member of the squad.

I'm a big fan of Adam El Abd and I think he should always be in the starting eleven, and he was clearly the leader of the back four yesterday and should maybe have been captain. I think that if Greer and Sparrow were sent off then Mellor should have been too but El Abd was not hurt and the rolling around was just stupid.

I'm not slagging off El Abd in terms of his performance in the pitch at all. I have already said he should be starting at the back as he has probably been our best defender so far this season
The cheating winds me up, especially something so completely so theatrical it was embarrassing

I agree cheating is part of the game the world over, but when it's one of your own it is different in my view. They represent something I want to be proud of in a Premier League hyped world, and when stuff like this happens it riles me up

Oh and whoever said f*** off and support Arsenal, I paid my money to go and travelled there as I have the nearly 700 other Brighton games I've been to in the twenty years I've been going...

It was me, and I didnt say F### off thank you very much. Keep your pikey language to yourself.
Second i don't care how many games you have been to. You have your opinion I have mine. Unless of course you think yours is more valid with the "look how many games ive been to"
It reminds me of one of nsc's top posters saying.... "don't listen to him, he only has 150 or so posts" Now that's pathetic.
Thirdly, my point wasn't actually aimed at you specifically.
Fourthly, I have pmt today.

I understand the cheating thing , however leading with the thread title Adam El Abd pathetic is abit unfair, there has been many players do it before.

I would say he is far from pathetic maybe i would use the words determined, hard working and loyal to describe the lad better.

I've never really understood it. If you were pushed in the face, why would you fall over unless you were in extreme agony? Would you surely not just take a step back? Falling over is probably more painful than a push in the face.

Does getting pushed in the face mean you no longer have the ability to use your legs?

The Championship.
Well lets all get one the back of Murray while were at it? Who cares if he went over the way he did , Mellor should of seen red and El-Abd done the right thing in going over like that.

At the end of the day Mendoza Neil Mellor raised his hands and that is a straight red card. Whether El Abd made a meal of it or not is irrelavent.

All i ask for is consistency. Given what happened to Greer and Sparrow i probably wouldnt have dropped like a sack of spuds aswell.

Regards his recent performances he really has gone up in my estimation. Been solid everytime ive seen him this season.

As a whole though i do think the squad needs some tacking lessons. Otherwise we will be blighted by suspensions all season long.
