Zidane won just about everything at club and international level, scoring goals and running games. He was skilful, powerful, decent in the air, incredible technique. Over-rated? Nah

Yes he was/is. In 10 years in Serie A and La Liga he had 1 or 2 consistently good seasons at the most. He very rarely ran games.

He did have great technique and was a lovely player to watch, a good You Tube flair player which clouds peoples judgement today, and he turned it on in a couple of big games at world cups but overall his contribution is overrated. Messi and Ronaldo are MILES ahead of him and the likes of Thierry Henry, original Ronaldo, Iniesta, David Silva and Xavi were better players and contributed more overall.

Even when France won the World Cup in 1998 he actually had a poor tournament but this is obviously overshadowed by the 2 headers he scored in the final. In 2006 when he got sent off in the final and cost his side the cup, he had 1 very good and 1 decent games. The rest, average.

Aaron Mooy though! [emoji7]

We can’t complain at £20m+.
No way.....he is useless, incompetent, over rated, inconsistent and is a useless layabout. (same as last season with Town) tell them we will take him off their hands for 5 million. We are for flips sake paying his high wages.*

*Don't think they will believe this.

You're right. Other than winning goals in Champions League and World Cup finals, what did he ever do? The balon d'or judges, Fifa world player of the year judges, Serie A player of the year judges, the Real Madrid fans who voted for him in an all time 11....all been watching too much Youtube

But yes, Mooy. What a player :clap2:

Interesting our best player by far played a couple of days ago, I do wonder if managers are being too clever with the sheer scale of rotation

I never rated Mooy the whole time he has been with us. That was until today, whenhe was absolutely brilliant - like he was at Huddersfield two seasons ago. I haven't seen an Albion player single handedly dominate a game like that for a long time.

Hopefully he can keep it up, and stay with us in the long term. He will become a monster midfield maestro, better than he was at Huddersfield given we have a better quality team.

You clearly haven’t been watching too many of our games then have you if you haven’t rated him until now !

Until today!!! Christ, tough crowd. He's been absolutely brilliant and our stand out player for some time now. Where have you been?

You must have started on the pop early today......or not watched much this season.......he’s been MOTM or v. close to it in virtually every game he’s played.

It’s a good guess, Telegraph, but wrong.
