Here
The stadium will last for 50 - 75 years, or longer. It needs the maximum capacity possible to provide for the highs during its life. The bigger the capacity, the bigger the crowds, the bigger the revenue = a higher level of sustainability = no brainer.

We gotta go for the extra 8k.

There have already been times this season when the away allocation could have been a lot more which is missed revenue and our own fans have been unable to get a ticket. Should we reach the Prem in the future then it is a must.

There may also be times in the future when a 30k Amex is half empty but then the Club can address that at the time with a sensible pricing structure.

I was wondering, if we did manage to become a Bolton-esque mid-lower Premier League club, how many people would turn up for the non-glamour games once the novelty wears off after the first season or two? Would there still be an insatiable demand for tickets?

Thinking back to the old Goldstone days that's exactly what will happen. There's a perception that games against Bolton, QPR, Wigan etc aren't going to be exciting enough. And those days also included the ability to park a car near the ground!

Slightly off topic here, but with the new away end the club said something about the opposition using the South-East corner when its built. So is it the away end as it is adding on the South-East corner or something different?

What I would do is keep the away fans where they are but also keep hold of those giant tarpaulins that cover the corners currently. These new corner seats can be sold last and if they are not just cover them with the tarps = no gaps / seemingly full stadium...

I would prefer a stadium that was completely full of course, but I think we need the stadium to be fully complete and up to 30,000 just to get ourselves known as a promising club. Of course our attendance's won't be able to fill full capacity, but this is again something for the club to push forward.
