Should add that other Islamic extremists, such as Abu Quatada have said the beheadings are wrong and against Islam, of course other followers of Islam not a part of ISIS are against this as well.

A big can of the anti-Islam worms may well be opened up again, despite the fact ISIS arent following the true meaning of Islam, but their own exaggerated views and agenda and are brainwashing others to believe them.

The murder of David Haines is an act of pure evil. My heart goes out to his family who have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude.

We will do everything in our power to hunt down these murderers and ensure they face justice, however long it takes.

What's the true meaning of Islam? Shia? Sunni? Salafism? Whilst you're telling us the true meaning, what's the rightful line of Christianity? I was bought up Anglican but Protestants tell me I'm wrong?.....

How many of them are there 10,000? I'm sure there can't be too many of these nutters.

Possibly not even that when you consider how many followers of Islam there are in the world, hundreds of millions, maybe even over a billion. Certainly makes ISIS a minority - but a loud minority who need to be stamped out, unfortunately direct action seems to be the only way but with more action will inevitably come more murders.

Im fairly sure the true meaning isnt kill anyone who isnt your religion or disagree with you. Millions of other Islam followers practise their religion in a non-extreme way.

Same with Christianity too, but certainly not as extreme.

We have had debate about Islamiphobia for quite some time. It is now time for members of the Islamic faith to publicly denounce the extremists, and be seen to help our security forces to root out the scum that exist within their community.

We'll never know true figures and real opinions of Christians and Muslims. Many could agree with IS, many could agree with the crusades etc etc. it's unrealistic and fairly fallacious to argue the majority don't believe in this. We just don't know.

They are and have been. This would never be acceptable in any religion or no religion at all of course.

Its just sickening and these extremists need to have action against them, there is little alternative.

Whilst ideal. Not likely, not because they don't want too but rather, the internet is the easiest place to find extremist literature and videos. I've read numerous articles on Muslim converts being radicalised online rather than within community mosques. How can we fight an idea that's posted online?

They do this all the time.

Nobody is listening. Which is why no minds get changed, Muslim or no.

Everybody has their stories already chosen, stories that they've already learned to tell.

Here you go. The final words from David Haines (under duress)..

yeah, so its pretty much a catch all "we dont like the west, but for no reason" message. we shouldnt be paying attention to any of the details of ISIS, let them get on with their sectarian squabble. they are trying to draw in western intervention, there is no good reason for them to be taken western hostages in the first place.

This is the fact I find odd. If the US found a coalition to go in, IS could be destroyed very quickly. It's not like a typical insurgency organisation, trained and experienced in urban warfare using infantry techniques...yet they're goading for a fiat fight they know they can't win. Baffling...

Not just the leaders of public facing bodies representing Islam, or the mullahs and clerics, but the young people of Bradford, Oldham, Birmingham and Slough.

Because they know we have no stomach for a fight to the end. Not go in, kick a few arses and calm them down.

More, storm in, obliterate the enemy without mercy, they know that we will not do it.

Reality, they will keep coming at us.

How would we even know? They take out an advert in the Telegraph?

Those people are voiceless, and invisible, until they break stuff or burn something.

This is baffling but isn't uncommon in the Middle East.

The reality is that many of them refuse to condemn the actions of a variety of Islamic extremist groups, until they do we will see a very dangerous time ahead of us.

"that it is a retaliation to Western Violence" so, so so wrong. The rise of IS originates from Syria, the actual organisation originates from Jordan. Will you ever source your arguments? I doubt it, purely because it goes against your political beliefs.

ISIS exploited the violence in Syria. FSA was loosely organised, poorly armed and poorly trained. IS had fighters who fought in the 2004 battle of fallujah and then the following Sunni insurgency of Iraq therein after. The violence in Syria is not because of Western governments. If it is, then our foreign policy objective of promoting democracy was arguably an attractive proposition.

ISIS' experience won them ground in the north, clashing often with Syrian-Kurdish Peshmerga. Eventually, they saw that they weren't taking enough ground in Syria, they then targeted northern corridors into Iraq. Mosul being the first major city they could realistically take. They already had Fallujah.

al-Zarqawi was the major player setting these groups up before Iraq invasion of 2003, his first attack was in 1999. He formed the al-Tawhid in Jordan with the sole purpose of carrying out what IS is doing now.

You don't seem to have much of an historical perception of the Middle East - in particular Western 'interventions' and resistance by the local populations! This hasn't been going on just since our invasion of Iraq in 2003 and many Islamic fundamentalists will feel that they are continuing a war started by the first Crusade around 1,000 years ago!!
