Are you serious? Really?

Danny Wilson isn't fit to lick up Gus's shit after a night on the booze.

Gus' record against Wilson would suggest otherwise. Wilson also has a pretty good overall CV Gus doesn't have one so get a grip. Is this another silly Bottler Button argument that is gonna come back and bite you?

No need to bring another sport into this thread, we can discuss on an F1 one at some point, but I fully believe everything I have said about Jenson is coming true. Although, I have to say, my respect for him is growing a little now he is driving for McLaren.

Anyway, Danny Wilson, I'm sure he's a great guy and a decent enough manager, but he's never going to really take you anywhere. He's not likely to disgrace himself, but at the same time he's not going to set your pulse racing. He's ok for a club like Swindon, and they will have the odd good season under him like this one. However, to think he is anywhere even close to being as good as Gus is ludicrous. In Gus we have someone who could take us all the way to the top. We may have lost twice to Swindon this season, but look at what Gus had to work with when he took over - nothing! If we carry on with such a rate of improvement we're going to run away with this league next season. And you'd rather have Danny Wilson?!

I am quite happy with Gus but then I'd be quite happy with Wilson. His teams always score more than they concede and are good to watch. He also has reasonable success, what's not to like? Can't two people both be good in your universe? :lolol:

Just reading a few reactions to the Crofts and Calderon transfer. It suprises me how people are worried that things are falling apart. My view is that Poyet discovered Calderon. He also wasn't too upset that he didn't want to stay. Granted he was a good player for us, especially going forward, but if Poyet can find gems like that then he can do it again. Also, with Crofts, I'm sure that Poyet will have an ample replacement coming in. We are a club on the up with a fantastic, savvy Chairman so we won't be paying over the odds for players but at the same token I think the calibre of player we are now after is going to be higher.

Thoughts please.

My thoughts are that we need to build a solid stable team capable of going places. Maybe we were all spoilt by the Adams Mk.I DYNASTY that lasted for more years than we had any right to expect, but all I see at the moment is the same ol' revolving doors on the playing side. Even Tony Bloom's already admitting it may very well take time 'to gel'. We had the nucleus of a half-decent team at the back end of the season, and now the good guys are already gone while the likes of Elphick, El-Abd, Hart and Holroyd are still here. Sorry, but not buying into that 'In Gus We Trust' bullshit just yet.

Gus obviously has man management skills beyond many of his contemporaries in this division as well as tactical abilities which together had us playing a brand of football which was a joy to behold after such a dour start to the season. He is a manager who is bringing about change in this club which will result in a club moulded in his image & the creation of a dynasty from the bottom to the top which will stand this club in good stead for many years to come. He has an opportunity here with the full support of a Chairman to really build the club from the bottom up & he commands the respect of his playing staff as well as us supporters for his quest to make us a club to be feared & adored in equal measures.
