I feel sure Gus & Tano returned home last night discussing the final piece of the jigsaw for there promotion ambitions this season. " That big target man " is waiting till January an option, perhaps ?. But I feel a loan signing may be needed before then if we are to maintain the necessary consistency needed to win automatic promotion. I feel that the competition for that success could well mean every point will in the end matter by the seasons end. Lets hope there hunt proves fruitful very soon.

Surly we can find a cheap 6 foot 7 monster from non league that will be good and fit enough to play for 15 minutes in the Championship each week as a centre forward plan B

He does not need to hold the ball up or lay off, just head the ball at goal and cause a menace in the opposition box..

I was thinking the very same while driving home after the game last night. As an option off the bench a big lump may have made the difference. Can't see what Lopez had to offer as a game changer. Maybe Hammond should have gone up front instead of replacing AEA at the back.

I totally agreed with that comment

Ok lets stretch that to 25 minutes if required, there must be a good enough player happy to be a super sub at Brighton for such occasion willing to be paid a fair wage knowing he will only be required for 25 minutes tops per game..

We done some good business on deadline day, but we did not get the number one priority player we were after and have been after for 18 months now. Dobbie looks a good player and I sure he will be fine and do a good job. But CMS is our number one striker and how he was missed yesterday. We still need a centre forward and have done for a long time now.

We need a player who can glance a cross with his head into the far corner. Gordon Greer has been shown to be the best at this, except it was at the wrong end.

Comparing the Barnsley extended highlights with the Birmingham one, I don't think we will be lucky to face the Barnsley keeper again. The shots went in against Barnsley and missed by a fraction against Birmingham. Kooshank had more to do against Barnsley.

I think we should be more clinical up front in both matches. And the final ball could be more precise. Lopez and Dobbie looked promising from the TV angle.

I hope we do better than Liverpool at home and do not draw too many games. Scoring away was a big problem last year.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Tony Bloom needs to get the cheque book out and make Tony Pulis manager.

Absolute priority. After all, apart from the team currently top of the Premiership, the team currently top of the Championship, the World Cup winners, the EURO 2012 winners and err..............Barcelona, teams with a big target man always win.

Rubbish. We were just unlucky with our injuries yesterday. CMS has been on great form, we sorely missed the creativity of Bruno on the right flank so Bridge tried his best to compensate. I still don't think Dobbie is fully fit, so we lacked creativity and a presence up front in the 2nd half.

Funny, that after beating Barnsley and Burnley, everyone was hailing Gus as a genius and saying we don't need a big striker.

My how fickle we are.

As an aside, did anyone else see Zigic warming-up before the game??

My god he was awful! He couldn't control the ball or shoot with any accuracy at all, one missed the net behind the goal by miles to the right. I'm sure he is great at heading the ball but everything else was pitiful.

He's not great at heading the ball. At the away game last season, Bridcutt was outjumping him and winning the headers.

I dissagree. A big target man would not fit into Gus' way of playing. What is the point of having one if he likes players that play it through the middle?

Personally i would hope CMS gets fit soon ( can you miagine what we would be like if he had sold him to leeds) and look to give Lua Lua some more time rather than play three midfielders who are basically the same incarnation of eachother..Bridcutt, Hammond and Dicker.

Personally I hope we only need one spoiling midfielder, ie Bridcutt and then have two more creative from Crofts, Vicente, Orlandi., Lopez, Hammond
