Forster, Kuipers and El-Abd offered new deals

Cox and Virgo have between now and the end of the season to prove themselves worthy of a deal, may be kept on as squad players but also depends on what money / who is available to replace them in the squad

McLeod, Hawkins and Livermore will have to do something exceptional between now and the end of the season (if they last that long) to get a new contract, but i will wait to see if Poyets' coaching can get the best out of these players so that they perform to their potentials but its highly likely they will fail to deliver and go.

Hart - shame but possibly a season too far already, so unless he can produce the same form and have the same sort of impact he had at the end of last season he is a cert to be released

Why is everyone raving about Adam el abd?! He isn't very good, we all know that. We want to be promoted next season so we need players capable of that. El Abd is not capable.

Forster, Kuipers and El-Abd to be offered new deals (not saying that they'll all accept)

Hart, McLeod, Hawkins and Livermore to be told where to go.

Cox and Virgo have between now and the end of the season to prove themselves worthy of a deal (unless they get shipped out in the january window of course).

sounds about right to me

I forgot about that... didnt some genius at the albion also turn dwn Ian Wright because he was too small as well.. he then took palace to he to flight, a cup final and is now an arsenal legend.
Didn't know about Ian Wright, but some nob of a director wouldn't let Billy Lane buy Denis Law for a song because he (Law) was too small.

To get back to the main topic of the thread, new contracts for Kuipers, Forster and El Abd. Possibly Virgo and Cox if they play out of there skins and reach their potential in the rest of the season, the rest can bog off.

Because we actually go to games and can see what he has been doing each match rather than listening to someone hiding behind a keyboard taking cheap shots at players that they have no idea on how they are performing but based their opinions on there own personal dislike of a player.

I can't believe people are slagging El Abd on here still - last seaon his back passes cost us badly (as they never got to the keeper) early this season it was possibly justified, he has improved enormously since and certainly has impressed the new management team

Decent point - I don't think he would get in the Leeds team - not sure many of our existing squad would, can't see any of our forwards displacing Beckford for example, so when you put it like that anyone is a possible change.

absolutely, we cant sign everone and that is why the club pays managers, coahes and talent scouts. We had first dibs on Roy Keane and Ian Wright, instead they signed up Geoff Cooper and John Crumplin. There we go, but how things might have been different :shrug:

Cooper and Crumplin were not even at the same time or same manager. How many times do you need telling Keane didnt want to be here and returned home within 24 hours nothing the club could do about it..

ah huh and er Southate from Crawley and ian Wright? Why since the 80s have the scouts / youth policy produced so little in comparison to palace ? Not bloody good enough that is why, and we are on the up and the comfortable jobs for all the nice people we know attitude must change - results or out is the attitude I want. At the moment we are 5th from bottom so all the players mentioned out of a contract are fighting for their job and most should go if we want promotion next year. Forster at the right price, Kuipers at the right price and Cox also at the right price are the only ones who I would look to. El Abd and Virgo probably not but if they improve and are cheap on the wage bill. Places on a pomotion winning squad must be hard to come by.

by the way BG cooper and crumplin were with lloyd at the same time - i saw a double substitution when they came on and half the crowd walked out!.. whilst at the palace at the same time, Ian wright was banging the goals in

They might not have signed at the same time but they were both signed by Barry Lloyd and they were both in the same match day squad together under Lloyd.
