Of course.

I went to a friendly in Leatherhead in 1995 or 1996. Also I went to Chertsey for a friendly one year...

I find myself cowering with inadequacy now. All I had to throw back at you was an autographed photo of Valur Gislason.

so defensive I think he may be Mark McGhee

if I could just chip in here, MM's record pre-Albion shows him to be a manager who prefers attacking and attractive football. Shit facilities, crowds and wages have somewhat cramp...oh hang on isn't this how this thread started

Very defensive aren't you. No one has mentioned a target man, no one has mentioned Wayne Rooney. The season is nearly upon us and we haven't strengthened the squad in any way. Yet again we've signed a youngster and have a few trialists who will dissappear soon, never to be heard of again. There are clubs with less resources than us that seem to do ok in the transfer market, all the excuses that you reeled off just don't add up. If the club is that skint that we really can't afford anyone then just tell us, we will understand, but don't try and get everyones hopes up with bullshit stories that we 'nearly' signed a big name. If all that isn't cause for concern I don't know what is. Personally I'm preparing myself for another relegation battle, I just hope I'm wrong.

I was defending MM and got called passionless for my efforts.

None of us know whats going on behind the scenes, we should all appreciate that signing a proven goalscorer is always a challenge, and flying off the handle bitching about it as per the initial post in this thread, is counter productive.

The fact is DK has stuck with MM because of his past record in getting promotion from this division, so I really dont see the point in getting worked up about it, and giving all these "we're gonna go down" messages weeks before the season even starts.

Now, if after say 15 matches, last season's trend continues, I'll be the first to want MM's head, until then, SUPPORT THE f***ing MANAGER

I'm still backing McGhee !

although if he really is a manager who plays attractive football then perhaps this is one of the things we did wrong as last year we clearly never set out to do this

I wondered why you looked so strange when we met but now you've sumed it up perfectly. "Cowering with inadequacy". Genius.

I think you'll find he was pushed (into a gargantuan cash cushion). Decency didn't come into it.
Pushed? nah. He was always going after this World Cup, just the Daily Mail forced him/the FA to go public, which led to ridiculous process of eliminating all the decent candidates for the job as we needed a name before the World Cup, apparently.

If he's attempting to sign Dichio that hardly indicates he's looking to play fast free-flowing football next season does it?

If it'd been up to me, I'd have sacked him for gross incompetence four years ago.

To be honest, hunched over in the far corner I couldn't make out what you were mumbling about. I just nodded and smiled. :)

Ah! just like some of the Albion Board members wanted to do with McGhee a while ago? Maybe he does have some more similarities with Sven after all!!!
