I really don't like snobbery when it comes to support.

Takes a hell of a lot more to support Macclesfield Town home and away than it does to support (say) Chelsea or Man United. They don't love their team any less than bigger clubs, there's just fewer of them. That takes dedication. I applaud it.

Good skills

I'd imagine kids at school in places like Macclesfield- not a million miles from Manchester or Liverpool- are mostly wearing Premier League shirts, so any child who's prepared to don a Silkmen shirt deserves massive respect.

My mate was their football in the community officer when they went full time. Not only are they close to Liverpool and Manchester but Stoke and that area is to the south isn't that far either. He had an impossible job going into schools to drum up support. I am amazed they are still in the league all these years later and remember going up to see them and standing in one of the worse away ends in the league. Richie barker was playing for them. Echo what others have said, respect to the 38!!

This, following your local team is a way of life, which is why it is so devastating when football clubs cease to exist
