Yesterday's post

let me reiterate again

THERE WILL BE NO SNOW IN THE BRIGHTON AREA OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

There will be rain/sleet from early morning to midday and maximum temps tomorrow of 6C 43F , normal for time of year. There will be snow from 15 miles inland and bad around home counties and southern midlands but none in Brighton.

5.30 pm - Brighton 7C 45F - mild for time of year, clear, dry

This really is quite ridiculous.

You lot should pop over to Oswego, NY, to see what snow really looks like. That region currently has 6' 5" of snow and it is still coming down. When it gets like that, you begin to run out of places to shovel it.

(18" here).

Plenty of snow coming down on this side at the moment, but it's forecast to turn to rain later and all be gone by tomorrow.

Where in Belgium are you going?

Eventually to a family wedding in Brussels, but have booked an early ferry and was thinking of checking out Ypres and Antwerp on the way, as I've never been to either. But that all depends on the weather...eek. I'm a confident if fairly new driver but ice and stuff scares me a bit.

It wasn't your forecast though. Snow was never forecast by the Met Office to fall/lay in Brighton.

Turned on the telly this morning, (just coming into Belize) & CNN were laughing at us Brits. The headline was snowy London & the presenter was talking about how 7 cm's of snow had brought the place to a grinding halt.

Meanwhile in New York State they carry on as normal with 20 odd inches of snow overnight.
