...is, give or take, what Chelsea will have paid Albion in a little under a year when the Robert Sanchez deal is finalised.

They allowed us to upgrade Marc Cucurella with Pervis Estupinan.
They allowed us to upgrade Graham Potter with Roberto De Zerbi.
They're allowing us to be rid of a sulky goalkeeper who was destined to never play again, and who we have replaced with a highly-talented youngster.

...and the Albion is many tens of millions of pounds better off too.

The difference between a club with a strategy, and a club without.

A little under/over a year depending on when the Sanchez deal is completed. Cucurella joined Chelsea on 5th August 2022.

You also forgot to add 6 points and 7 league positions.

I know. Why all the hatred for Chelsea ? (well, actually that’s a rhetorical question).
They are going to need to round it up by £100m if they want Caicedo though.

For us it's a staggering amount, but for Chelsea it is really chump change when you look at what they've spent over the last few decades, or even the last year. Then contrast that with what the Saudis could spend and I doubt £100m would even register on their coin purse radar. Really does show how well we're doing in comparison to our position in the footballing food chain.

And yet still some people don't like them? :) If they buy Moises they will have paid off two thirds of the cost of the Amex! It's quite astounding.

Gods country fortnightly
And did the double over them having never beaten them in a league match in our history. Can all clubs be so kind to us?

wasnt the Amex (give or take a few £) about £100 million, Chelsea have already paid that, and are now into the cost of building the acadamy. If they give is £100 million for Moises then they will have paid for both, along with all the improvements!

They gave us £100m for the privilege of being worse than us

This is similar from the ‘what have the Romans ever done for us’ line.

Perhaps it’s time for us to dial down the hate. Personally, I’ve been ignoring Palace for months and months by delivering my scorn onto Chelsea instead. The wins against Chelsea were so much better than the defeat of Palace at home.

But as you point out, they partially funded our march to the top 6 and have also stood aside for us, effectively handing us their European place. Yes, they have some tiresome fans but maybe it’s time to go cut them a little slack. The Sanchez deal seems to have gone down very well.

I remember us being in the 1st division when Chelsea were in the 2nd
But in reality we're still quite a long way behind them
One seagull doesn't make a summer and all that
When there comes a time we're buying one of their players for obscene amounts of money
Then perhaps we've caught them up,winning something would help too
Sorry for the sobering assessment
