I would hope £500k. £1m would make a nice dent in the black hole and £500k would get 2 CKR type players. And CKR to us is like Virgs to Celtic - good at a lower level and a good gamble.

As dissapointing as it is to see Virgo go the money should put us in a position to bring in a few decent quality players across the whole squad.

thing is...over say the past 5 years we spent maybe 250k tops on the whole squad

now in one pre season we may be spending nearly 1million+ on players.

so if we spend as wisely as we have done in the past then we should be able to really gain a good squad

I would spend a fair amount on the youth setup considering where the money came from. Rather that than waste a large wedge on someone who breaks their leg first game or proves to be Kitson mk II.

I was struggling to work out where Virgo was going to play next season anyway. Utility players are useful but i'd rather have an out and out striker or a proven defender. Virgo is a legend but very easily replaced.

i would suggest there's very little need to spend any more on Falmer - the inquiry is over and the funding won't come from the club funds. We will need to hold a bit back to cover the inevitable losses we have playing at Withdean, but not all of it surely.
