Not over until the bloke actually signs the contract his club is talking about.

However, it seems unlikely that we can get this over the line before the end of the window now.

And its likely, even if he doesn't sign a new contract, that we will find ourselves with extra competition for his signature come January.

His agent just gave an interview and he's pretty pissed (sorry for the bad translation, my English isn't that great lol):

"We don't want anything to do with this board (directors?). We had a meeting with Brighton, at that moment, Buonanotte didn't have a contract with the club and could leave by custody (I'm not sure how to translate this? It means essentially that because he's a minor his parents can just decide to move to England, for example, and he can choose to go to a different club without actually being sold). He also had a 2M release clause.
This back and forth has surprised us. We had everything agreed upon. We were starting to exchange the paperwork with the Brighton representatives, and now this happens.
At first, it was 5 or 6M, then 6M in bonuses, all achievable. Later, a 20% sell-on clause. It could've been the best sale in Central's history. An offer from a Premier League club doesn't arrive for every player, and especially a 17-year-old. Buonanotte's sale could've left more money than Julian Alvarez's.
This shows how unserious (?) Central is. All of this through the media, it's pathetic."

On Brighton: "They can't believe it. Brighton is playing and they're sending messages. They're surprised. We had a meeting for 15 hours here in Madrid to find a solution, the best thing for the club.

According to him, Central now wants to improve his contract and set a 20M release clause. Still, he insists they want nothing to do with this administration. He said he kept trying to call Carloni (Central's president) and didn't get an answer and even Facundo called him and no answer.

Thanks! :clap2:

To bad his club are trying to balloting up.

Reports in South America are saying we’re back in touch over making the move happen. Rosario want us to improve on our $6m basic, plus $6m potential add ons though. Balls in our court presently.

Looking at reports his contract is up in June. They've got some serious balls if they don't sell in January...

Makes sense with Mwepu's unfortunate retirement, build for the future.

If any other party does register an interest, we won't get involved in a bidding war.
