Match report on the official website (although no.9 Everitt scored a hat-trick, not four - no. 10 Cam Peupion scored the first, see below) - Albion under-18s put five past Woking

Albion U-18s have been handed a tough task, with an away draw at Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup. The two teams haven't yet played each other in the U-18 Premier League South (they were originally scheduled to meet last Saturday, but Villa's third round FA Youth Cup tie at Reading was arranged for the night before). Villa are currently second in the table (only behind leaders Fulham on goal difference); Albion sit fourth, but with 4 points fewer.

The only good thing about the draw is that there is at least a chance that Villa will provide live coverage.

A very decent 2-0 win at West Ham United today for the U-18s, both goals coming from Marcus Ifill (taking him to 4 for the season). Albion move up to third in the table.

There was a debut as a late sub for U-16 Jack Hinshelwood (Adam's son). Also a first appearance on the bench for another U-16, Joshua Duffus.

For anyone interested, and who might have missed the announcement, the FA Youth Cup 4th round fixture against Aston Villa will take place at Villa Park on Wednesday March 24 at 7pm - FA Youth Cup date confirmed

I remain hopeful that Villa will provide live coverage of the game.

Also for anyone interested, an interview with Albion U-18s head coach Mark Beard, in conversation with (Lewes FC manager) Hugo Langton:-

Well, there's a much better chance if it's being played at Villa Park rather than Lancing!

9th and 10th goal for Moran today in a 3-0 win for the u18 despite only being on the pitch for last half hour. Depending on who's information you use, believe that's double figures in goals and assists for him this season. Outstanding really.

Have just looked at the draw and some very small clubs in. Mighty unlucky for Villa and Brighton to draw each other so early

Wonder if they will involve u23 regulars Tsoungui, Ferguson & Turns for this, looks like this will be a great game though. Slightly fortunate that the irish u19/u17 qualifiers have been cancelled

I believe Tsoungui is currently injured - he hasn't featured since the PL2 fixture against Leicester City on Feb 22nd (and posted "I'll be back" on social media on March 9).

It is possible they bring Turns in, but usually they'll make that change in the preceding match so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jackson/Offiah partnership continue (it is the most used CB pairing for the U-18s this season).

Zak Emmerson was subbed at half-time on Saturday - assuming he wasn't injured, I would imagine that was done with a view to keeping him fresh for Wednesday, so again I would expect he'll start up front at Villa Park.

mentioned on other thread. Is this our best chance of winning FA youth cup. Still remember everybody caught out with 4/5k attending Chelsea game at Withdean

How about we focus on a very difficult 4th round tie away at Villa, before we start THAT sort of talk.
