While I'm marking the current set of questions, here are those for the FINAL matches of the summer season (17/18-20).

Now, this is the official 'Brighton Lines is a **** round', Some of these are very hard. However, revolving the noodles means an educated guess and you stand a chance in all of them.

You have fifteen questions to answer. If you are still in the cup, you must answer the tie-break question also, although it does not count towards the league and only counts in the cup if you are tied with your opponent. In the case of the tie-beak the nearest answer wins.

Answers by Wednesday late.

1 Burnley won the 1973 Charity Shield. What did they win that year that enabled them to compete ?
2 The 2012 Community Shield final was not held at Wembley. Where was it played ?
3 The Kingsland Stand is found at which Premier League ground ?
4 The main route being M23, M25, A12, A14. This Championship ground is 168 miles from the AMEX. Where are we off to ?
5 Leeds Road was the former ground of which Yorkshire club ?
6 Hull City are known by what nickname ?
7 When Albion entered Division 2 in 1958 their opening match produced what record that has endured to this day ?
8 Which Premier League team defeated Albion in the 5th Round of the FA Cup in 2011 ?
9 Which non-league team were defeated at Manchester United the same day ?
10 Who was the last Englishman to referee a World Cup Final ?
11 Nestor Pitana refereed the 2018 World Cup Final. What nationality is he ?
12 Which nation won the 2000 European Championship ?
13 England and Germany failed in the group stages of the 2000 Euros. Who topped their group ?
14 Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle were automatically promoted from League 2 this year. Which other team were also an automatic promotion ?
15 Who were the first league team that Brian Clough managed ?

TB What was the crowd in the 1920 FA Cup Final between Aston Villa and Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge ?

Good luck. You might need it.

On the Border
Phew that has given me a headache a good mixture of straight forward and needing to have a pure guess.

No clarity needed really. It would clearly be relevant to the time. As would the following question !

The very fact I had to ask the question suggests that clarity was indeed needed!

Interesting challenge for my rather soft 'They know who they mean' rule that allows a point sometimes for incomplete answers.

So to clarify the tightening rule following a late night edict by the Lines Lodge committee.

1) Where a person's name is required a surname is fine only. However, as has happened in this round, there are occasions when it may not be. 'Francis' was not an acceptable answer because it could have referred to both Gerry or Trevor.
2) One person answered 'Hayden someone' to the Watford question and was given the point as it was deemed to qualify under the rule. This is very lenient but allowed as the person clearly knew who they meant. It won't be allowed next season.
3) If a first name is incorrect, but it is absolutely clear that the person knows who they are referring to, a point may be given provided there is no ambiguity. This happened on the referee question.
4) Club abbreviations are fine if it is clear that there is only one club a person could be referring to. E.g Orient, BHA, PNE, Wolves, MASSIVE, Man U etc.

This rule will be made tighter next season.

Answers for last round:

The answer that suggested Clive Dunn managed at the 1980 Euros was a genuine 'LOL'.

Here are the league standings at present.

There was an error made in the previous tables. The marks for the previous week had been added into a matchday for this week in error. The software flagged that up tonight. Hence a series of adjustments have been made. The normal protocol is to ignore anything that isn't reported by the Monday, but as this affects potentially everyone the adjustments were made.

It's important to check your results have been calculated correctly and look at your matches now and then. There are 4,538 marking/score updates to put through over the course of the season so, although all care is taken, there is a risk of error.

The corrected leagues going into the final set are shown below along with the League Cup results and Final which runs alongside:

Yes. The rule is too lenient but has to be evenly applied until next season when it changes. But don't worry, they still lost all their matches...Hence there was no further deliberations.

If only you could put your whingers energy into getting your answers in on time

Ok, I'm having a senior moment. Question 15
If a player isn't of british origin, nor are his ancestors, how can he qualify for a british national team? Are we doing the cricket rule where some one who knows where england is can play for them? I don't get it, explain it to me......in small words!!

My becoming a British citizen.

A friend of mine was born in South America, had an American parent and moved here at a young age.

He qualifies therefore for 6 countries.

Last round was horrible for me, my two educated guesses were way off and I made a school boy error with a third question that I should have known the answer to which has resulted to be being knocked out of the cup. I'm more confident with my educated guesses for this round even though the round looked tougher when I first read the questions. I don't check the answers until the results come in, I like the mystery of not knowing. I did look up the Euro 80 ref question which I knew I had wrong when Brighton Lines posted that no-one had got it right after I'd submitted my answers. Would never have guessed that name in a million years simply cause I'd never heard of the bloke.
