Good news about a new series.. Reece Shearsmith is an absolute tragi-comic genius.

So the first episode in this series was one of those more silly ones - and very good it was to.

So the first episode in this series was one of those more silly ones - and very good it was to.

I thought it was an excellent dig at those silly 'caper' films whilst respectfully nodding to the better quality robbery films, all the while adding their own humour. The Mrs was less impressed than me but then again she doesn't watch as much TV as me so didn't get the sources.

I feel a bit sorry for the male actors. I reckon there's plenty waiting to get a '9' on their CV. Imagine being hidden by a mask all episode.

Just watched 'Wuthering Heist'. Guffawed my way through it, it was brilliant.
But that title, that title. Can't beat it.
If you get time, have a listen to the Inside, Inside No 9 podcast on BBC Sounds- there’s a good little story about that title. Lots of other interesting stuff on it too.

Thought the second episode was excellent too.

I am so late to this party, only just started watching series 1 last week, must say it is excellent. Don't think it will be long before I rattle through them to catch up to series 6.

I'm surprised nobody made the connection (homage) to Kermode and Mayo in last week's episode.

Buzzing for this, as always.

Top 5 episodes?

12 Days of Christine
The Bill
Tom & Gerri
Cold Comfort
Riddle of the Sphinx

Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room & A Quiet Night In just missing out.

That's a bit of an off the top of my head list.

The 12 Days of Christine was brilliantly made, and wow, that ending got me, very emotional.

I really liked Hotel Zanzibar. Based on Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors it had a very light touch compared to some of the much darker episodes. The rhyming couplets must have taken some working out and the delivery by the cast was top notch
