It's a rhetorical question. Sorry to be too oblique. To put it more simply, virtually all the posts about Brexit on this message board are talking about money, money, money. Nothing else (at least re. Brexit) has been important at all, just money. It's a money obsession. My rhetorical question was expressing surprise that someone had raised a Brexit issue that wasn't about money, though of course later posts proved that it was a money-money-money issue after all.

So more whataboutism but still no answer to what Brexit was meant to be about ? It's just as well I'm patient, I've been waiting six years for a Brexit Benefit.

Well, there was the infamous Tampon tax, that was being donated to charity anyway, and that Ireland, despite being in the EU, never charged :lolol:

When even Rees-Mogg has completely abandoned any hope of a Brexit benefit after deciding we couldn't put 'Taking back control' import controls in place as it would be 'an act of self harm'

Brexit ‘opportunities’ role ditched with no replacement for Jacob Rees-Mogg

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-opportunities-jacob-rees-mogg-b2161888.html

And yet there is still the very occasional dregs of the Brexiteer brigade trying to justify it, the vast majority now disappeared under new accounts or on the Main Board claiming they never post on the Brexit thread. Or haven't since the predicted and now blindingly obvious happened, despite pages of posts prior to the penny dropping :lolol:

At last, a Brexit benefit

Kwasi Kwarteng seeks to scrap bankers’ bonus cap to boost City of London

Kwasi Kwarteng, chancellor, is seeking to scrap Britain’s cap on bankers’ bonuses, introduced after the 2008 financial crash, in a controversial move to boost the City of London’s global competitiveness. Kwarteng argues the move would make London a more attractive destination for top global talent and would be a clear signal of his new “Big Bang 2.0” approach to post-Brexit City regulation, according to colleagues.

One financial executive said scrapping the cap would be a “clear Brexit dividend. Something you can present as a win”.

At last Brexiteers (as long as they are also senior executives in the banking community) are starting to see benefits finally being delivered. That should help offset the suffering as a result of the ever increasing inflation on foodstuffs and imported goods :lolol:

It’s a miracle we have any left I thought they were heading off to the EU and taking their massive salaries and bonuses with them?

You are damping both sides of the mattress with this one.

What a stink……..

Well I've been waiting 6 years for you to offer up any kind of Brexit benefit, after years of furious campaigning for your true socialist Brexit all over this thread

So what are you prepared to do about it, voting to remain will only increase the capitalist free for all that you so often rail against?

Any institution that is secretly creating trade deals like TTIP are the enemy of the workers (and democracy) it is refreshing to see that many of your German compatriots understand this dynamic and are prepared to get out on the streets to protest. Little Deutchslanders as you would refer to them I suspect.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/20...rade-deal-rally-hundreds-thousands-protesters

In this country of course the political classes across the political divide are prepared to conspire to hide the truth from workers and voters........and the f@ckers have been doing this on EU matters for years.

The delicious irony about this debate of course is how those who consider themselves politically radical about Toryism when presented with the opportunity to be radical, and serve up a punch in the face to the Tory establishment that is setting up to screw people over with outrageous agreements like TTIP meekly follow the Tory establishment line..........Wat Tyler must be spinning like a top.

Backing the scrapping of the Bankers bonus now ? It certainly appears someone has been spinning like a top in a desperate attempt to find a benefit and try to justify what they did to the workers :lolol:

Apparantly 1/3 of UK businesses who exported to the UK have gone. Just imagine the billions of lost revenue and job losses

Wasn't it Bozo who said UK businesses would be 50-60bn better off?

I would back scrapping any overly prescriptive rules that don’t work effectively, a position shared to a greater or lesser extent by the EU itself, who implemented those rules.

I don’t think scrapping the rules is contradictory with supporting Brexit either. With respect to the U.K. it has long been the adult in the room on financial services, and it should set its rules to generate the most tax revenue so that there is more money to be redistributed.

Proportionality is the key, which is a concept I know you won’t understand. Tinkling the bed on the other hand……..well there is your speciality.

Yeah, all these damn regulations, just like those draconian seat belt rules

i'd much rather have the German banking system, more smaller localised banks that are for the benefit of the people and business rather than allowing London to be the bankers Casino of Europe with so much power they care little for the people, making it difficult to get a mortgage and businesses being destroyed by extortionate refinancing rates, not to mention London being the place where Putin hides all his dirty money.

To some extent I agree with your point on Russian money, but then the U.K. Government actively encouraged U.K. business to develop relationships with Russia when we were friends.

However, one country did that in spades, and it’s ironic you think that country has better arrangements with Putin.

It’s ok, I get it, you hate the U.K. because of Brexit and the Tories. However not everything in the Fatherland is better, if it was we wouldn’t be having this exchange.

I love the UK and just resent Brexit and the Tories for destroying much of the country I love..... and I believe they will continue to do it while you continue to defend them.

Do you hate the UK (and maybe only like England)?

I know you'll find this hard to believe, but before Brexit actually happened, the results became clear, and the penny finally dropped, he was claiming Brexit was going to be great victory for the working classes of Brtiain :dunce:

Hence the constant whataboutism these days :lolol:
