Train to Southampton, then change train and alight at Pokesdown.
Nice boozer opposite the station then only a 10 minute walk to the ground.

This, although keep in mind the trains between Soton and Brighton are sloooooooooooow. 19 stops if I remember correctly, usually about 1h40m.

The atmosphere isn't the same when your watching it on tv compared to being there at the ground, the Brighton away support is fantastic!

Just found a route by train, to and from London, that hasn't been affected by the bus replacing trains between Basingstoke and Waterloo. I just have to get to Pokesdown by 1938... and be able to get on that train.
Anyone know if Pokesdown has the same queues as Falmer, post-games? I really hope it doesn't.

I drove down there on Tuesday. It took four hours. Only two and a half on the way back, but it was after 10pm.

Yeah. I'm doing E.Croydon to Soton via this route as it's much cheaper than using the line between Southampton and Waterloo but it does mean about 2h30m on the train (plus the 30min to Bournemouth). I don't have a car so no choice.

My boy works in the centre of Southampton and travel and down and back each day. Normal is hour 30 - hour 50. Obviously avoids peak times.
