The left is portrayed as lazy work shy and on benefits, yet people still say that they will vote for them, plus opinion polls are anonymous you're not labeled as evil if you say you will vote tory in an opinion poll! Plus I think opinion polls take into account things like you mention.

Where did the tory vote come from, why did months of numerous opinion polls suggest it was in the low 30s?

I was being slightly facetious with regards to the economy but there is a fair argument to be made that the economy is in a worse position than five years ago. Anyway in another five years it will be clearer, as will the state of the NHS.

Technically improving on the one hand but people worse off on the other, so improving for whom? And what about the NHS, I really hope I'm wrong, but I can imagine big changes over the next five years, privatisation in quality of care down...

We can now kiss good bye to the NHS and possibly Great Britain and us being in Europe. Oh well at least the economy is improving, oh wait it isn't.

They are based, to a certain extent on previous voting behaviour, and this election hasn't been similar to past elections, therefore it is more likely to have some variation.

Well if the poll turns out right, I sure hope I turn out to be wrong when I say the tories will continue to prise the heart out of this country inch by inch.

True, I guess there is less history on which to base the exit poll statistics and it will therefore be more likely to be wrong...

I’ll stay up for the exit poll, which from 2010 I remember was surprisingly accurate and essentially the actual result, at least in terms of the number of MPs.
