I agree. England have had no more luck than Australia. It's been 2-2 on the toss over the 4 games, hasn't it? Anything that happens once that call is made is down to judgement of the captain and skill of the team.
Chill everyone. They are still over 200 behind, which is a huge deficit. Law of averages says we'll make a breakthrough and the usual collapse will commence.
Edit: told you so!
Ali has been in such good form for this series. His ability to score so freely at the bottom end of an innings has turned the balance of the two games we won before this one.
We saw that in Melbourne in 2010. Following the first day, which England dominated, they were playing in front of 80 000 empty seats and a couple of thousand pissed up England fans.
Nah, the old duffers (who I suspect have had a glass of wine or a pint or two in the afternoon) commentating are one of the factors that makes TMS such good listening. There are periods in test matches that could be a bit dull to listen to if it was all flawless and wasn't for stuff like this.
I agree. And with the strength of England's batting line up all the way down to Broad, we have the luxury of being able to persevere for future benefit.
Besides, he's out scored every single Aussie batsman.
