I feel a bit embarassed offering any " mitigating circumstances " to this low life now. Not my finest hour. I was called on it, and rightly so.

I have not made light of his wrongdoing in anyway whatsoever. The crux of my argument is the scale of things. You could be right and he may be a vile paedo who would have gone onto to continue his crimes. You might not be. We are having an exchange of thoughts, that is all.

I am not sure anyone has said it is ok. Some people have questioned the labelling of all abusers under the same title, all being called paedo's and the length of sentances handed down. If this had happened in Canada it would be a non issue, therefore you are labelling the whole Canadian...
