He's a dick for refusing to play but not for wanting out. He's 25, a regular in the Spanish squad and wanted by a host of teams. He's acted appallingly and that is unforgivable but clearly now a move is best for both parties.
I think this is the most distasteful thing about it. Steele is obviously a very important and popular member of the group. He's been totally professional throughout. And now when the tables are reversed Bob just gives up. No training hard, no supporting and encouraging Steele, no warming up at...
Absolutely amazing for both parties if true. Clearly RDZ doesn't fancy him, clearly he doesn't fancy fighting for a place. I actually think he might be shown up at a "bigger club" but wish him the best.
Sanchez will leave, I'm pretty certain of that. Also suspect, as well as Steele has done, we will be looking at another first choice keeper (more because we are at that level now than anything against Steele).
I think people are confusing ability with ball at feet Vs decision making with ball at feet. Suspect that is what RDZ is getting at- he feels Steele makes better decisions with the ball.
He's looking a lot more comfortable under RDZ recently. Always a big change for GKs with any management change and he's being seriously pushed by RDZ. Still well on his way to being well and truly World Class.
It's all a learning process right. He didn't lose us the game despite his mistakes. It was a poor first half against a team absolutely full of confidence and quality. I have no doubt that when he is 30 he'll be in the top three keepers in the league.
He’s been incredible of late. By his late twenties he is going to be one of the very best in the World. I did feel he could’ve had a rest when his form so obviously dipped but my word he’s not let that effect him. What a player and what a guy!
Sometimes young goalies need to be taken out of the firing line. I’ve said since Sanchez was promoted that if Steele isn’t trusted we need another experienced GK. Each time I’ve been scoffed at.
The reality is ALL young (and he is young for a GK) GKs have times when they lose confidence, lose...
