I have travelled fairly regularly on East Coast between Kings Cross and Newcastle over the last few years and can confirm that I have found the WiFi to work perfectly well whenever I've needed it.

Fair enough. :thumbsup: What would/will happen, in your opinion, if SASTA/GTR/DFT decide simply to push through these changes and to hell with the consequences? Can the RMT or whoever else actually stop them, as an employer, making the changes if they are so hellbent on them?

May I ask a question - if, as I entirely agree seems to be the case, GTR are such an appalling company to work for, why do you still choose to work for them? Please understand that I am not trying to cause an argument, I'm just genuinely curious.

Wouldn't surprise me either, and it's probably the best option rail users can hope for in the short term. God knows when this will actually be fully resolved though, as neither the RMT nor SASTA seem willing to moderate their respective positions in any way and as usual the travelling public...

True, but it now seems that they've decided that visitors to our city (on one of the busiest days of the year for travel into Brighton, I'd have thought) are to be used as pawns in their attempt to blackmail SASTA into giving them what they want. Pretty shitty to say the utter least and once...

Pathetic if true, shows that the unions have the same total disregard for train users as SASTA.

I agree entirely. I wonder how far SASTA have to push their staff before people start looking for other employment options - I wouldn't blame any of them in the slightest for doing so. However, I've generally found SASTA customer service to be below what I'd generally expect from a service...

I thought that OBS were supposed to be the same people we currently call guards, but with a different job title and altered responsibilities (or so SASTA would have us believe)? If so, surely they're already trained on dealing with the things mentioned as part of their guard role?

I'm at a genuine loss to understand why the passengers, who are being screwed left, right and centre by this whole thing, are being told that we should be the ones taking responsibility for sorting it out.

May I ask then, what are you and your colleagues doing about the situation? Of course abuse like that cannot be condoned, but at the same time surely you cannot expect angry passengers to argue everything on your behalves? Have you/your colleagues contacted media sources directly to broadcast...
