Yes. It would need some team work from WSCC & ESCC. B&HCC could start by erecting some signs. 'Welcome to Brighton and Hove - The Home of the County Champions '03 06' & '07 etc. Freedom to the city etc. etc.
In fact, I shall write to all Councils and authorities involved!
Petition the council for a monument worthy of the triple champions? ???
We are having an AIDS monument, so I don't see why we can't have a monument to acknowledge the achievements of Adams and Co.
Is he leaving in an effort to win some silverware? :bla:
Whatever happened to Mo Akram? I haven't seen him brandishing any medals or trophies.
I like the sound of those signings, Mr Mendoza.
I also wonder if Anthony McGrath is regretting not joining the premier cricketing county.
I would like to see the council honour the team and their achievements.
TIME LOST TO RAIN BY TITLE RIVALS
Hampshire - 106 hours
Yorkshire - 97 hours
Lancashire - 88 hours
Sussex - 71 hours
Durham - 54 hours
However, as with previous seasons, we have done very well to finish games much earlier. Certainly our previous titles, we batted more than our rivals, as we...
:D
I wish I had stuck around. I had to get the car back and had to settle for a beer or three with some rellies.
Oh glorious days. Time for the council to recognise the team and players.
Bit of a muted response on the bus trip from Churchill Square onwards. There were not a huge amount of Sussex fans about - presumably most were nursing hangovers!
Some goon just asked me what Sussex were celebrating. I told him they won the County Championship for the third time in five years...
"So disappointing,
Next year, weather permitting"
According to a poster on that forum
Just got back from my quick sprint to the County Ground. I got there 5 minutes before the final wicket went down.
Truly....marvellous scenes. A fitting end to the career of Monty and a fitting...
With Lancashire forced to chase (do or die) they would have a major chance to win anyway. As it stands, Lancs were able to get a decent platform before the start of today, which was a stupid move by Surrey.
I still can't believe Surrey declared so early. Lancs would have to go for it whatever the target was, so I don't understand why they declared with less than 525 or so... :nono:
Indeed. A tricky start to the season and missing key players at the finishing line.
Lancs are looking more comfortable than a Sloth on valium.
Edit: Mushy!! :clap2:
Chilton stumped. He stuttered even though the wicketkeeper had messed up, which left him time to recover and stump him!
Come on Salisbury!!
