Ah. K.
I imagine the falling out is typical of most rumoured fallings out; a player isn't playing and so isn't happy (as one would hope of a professional footballer), chinese whispers turns this into something more substantial.
If he goes there and fails, they keep playing him because he's expensive, and they don't get results, I can see all the threads about how it was the plan all along, get them to pay through the nose for an albion guy to bring the failure.
Are we sure that 7 didn't already include Glenn's replacements? He did mention that if he got a couple he was looking for Glenn would have less opportunity. Even if not, his comments would suggest the extra person added to the list will be a 3rd/4th choice striker, not another main striker.
Of...
And to think, somoene on page 27 said the thread was dying out and wouldn't reach 30 pages.
Will a mod merge this thread with the other glenn murray one started today, which would bump this thread to around 960?
Quite. To paraphrase one of my favourite west wing lines, there's a time in the career of every player that is successful at a particular level when they were unproven at that level.
Unproven is not automatically a bad thing.
And in a more recent interview he said if he got a couple of his targets Glenn would probably be down the pecking order anyway. Or I think that was what he meant when he said there would be less or fewer opportuinities for Glenn.
Gus said a week or two back that if he got a couple of the strikers he was after, glenn would have fewer opportunities, so I don't think he's waiting for Glenn to make up his mind. He's going after targets regardless.
I didn't say they would be right, just that they don't join a team thinking it's going to fail or struggle, they join a team thinking, whether it's because of the player themselves, or some other reason put to them during the negotiations (the new direction a club is taking, or new owners, or...
As a professional footballer, surely you have to believe that you will improve any team you join, and perhaps as well as them offering the most, he also believes that he will be worth it and help turn them into promotion candidates.
Look at us at the end of last season, not much better...
This thread is already 20 pages long. Other than the report of him negotiating, is there anything new or are all those pages just repeats of everything that has been posted in all the other Murray threads and therefore not worth reading?
