Came across this Aussie band today.
It's all been done before, but I'm always a sucker for a bit of a Wedding Present/Guided by Voices vibe...
Also love the fact it's three lads with what appears to be someone's Nan on drums.
Will check out the debut album in May.
@Pevenseagull...
Given the sad passing of Alan Rankine today, seems only fitting to give this an airing.
Just reminds you how open the 80s were to truly unique ideas and sounds...
Been listening to this album today, came out the other week, guy used to be in The Walkmen, whom I'll always rate because of The Rat.
It's ok, but I particularly like the 'music teacher with his students' vibe of the band!

Song is pretty good, but even more respect for getting the truly awesome Naomi Yang (who directed this vid) into an NSC thread.
LOVED Galaxie 500, even though I only got to see them live twice, and have continued to follow the stuff she’s done as Damon & Naomi since.
Great band.
Just don't look up the meaning of the name, though!
This track is ****ing awesome on headphones – all the guitar lines and feedback swirl round in circles, as the stereo mixing continuously loops each from one ear to the other.

Sad news that Harold Budd has died today. I shall put on The Moon & The Melodies in tribute…

Me too. HUGE fan. Saw them live about 30 times in fact!
Not sure that "all fell to bits' is totally fair, mind – sure Tanya left, but Throwing Muses are still going strong (new album came out just last month), and we've also had Breeders, Belly, 50 Ft Wave and both Kristin and Tanya's...
Yay, superb call.
I LOVED Red Guitars, fantastic band.
I still rate Good Technology as one of the most perfectly-constructed 4 minute songs ever.
Their compilation Seven Types Of Ambiguity is well worth having.
