It's the unwritten " it's too early in the game to issue a card" rule that's the problem. It's total rubbish, if it's s foul then no matter when or where in the game a card should be issued. Very few referees issue cards early and it can result in players taking advantage, who can blame them...

Could not agree more. Hooligans are NOT welcome before, during or after any match. Having been a victim in the 70s of mindless violence I am appalled that its still happening. Any one who is identified as a Brighton 'fan' should have a life long ban imposed. It beggars belief that these morons...

When refs are assessed by their peers perhaps its about time it was made open. This will clarify contentious decisions and maybe(?!!) help us understand the actions taken. I am fed up with Managers being fined for protesting against such utter incompetence and players receiving yellow or red...
