Sadly, we’ve been asking a 21 year old in his first full season to produce 9/10 performances every week, and then we have fans who get annoyed when he has an average performance and doesn’t carry the team on his back…
Has he improved him, or has he just given him games and he’s returned to the level he was at before, or close to it?
And let’s be honest, if you read NSC, Lamptey’s the worst player that’s ever played for us, so I’m not sure many on here would agree with you.
This is a stretch. Baleba has benefited from simply playing regularly. He’s been running games for us all season, often on his own, so that can’t be down to FH - if anything the manager has made his role more difficult.
Ayari came back that player… that’s been clear again since his first...
Surely it has to be Weiffer? You can’t lose Baleba’s dynamism in midfield. And if Weiffer still can’t get in this side with the way we’re playing at the moment, and with all the injuries, then we may as well pack him off.
Saying that, every time he plays he does something that seems to cost us...
The point that he wasn’t going to get there so he backed off?
Have you rewatched it rather than looked at some stills? Or better yet, were you watching it live?
Anyone with any ounce of football knowledge isn’t blaming Bart for their first goal last night, and no amount of stupid red dots...
I didn’t miss them, nor did I need to see them as I watched it live.
Not that I’m sure what you think you’re proving with the red dot.
The fact is that the goal was an outfield player issue, particularly Gomez, who got his positioning all wrong, but also an FH issue for allowing us to be 1v1...
I don’t think he was indecisive. He was never going to get there ahead of Rashford in a foot race, and if he takes him out outside the area it’s a red card.
The best bet is to retreat, try to hold up Rashford and try to make the save.
He’s far from a perfect keeper, but it’s incredibly harsh...
I dunno, he showed some signs with the City goal and then a few games after that, where he created chances.
Unfortunately, he’s an attacking 10, playing for a side that has 8 of those, in a system that used 2 of them at the start of the system and has now reverted to using one. We’ve also...
I think the bigger issue is that the skillset is entirely different. You have to have 360 vision at 6 rather than facing the play for most of the game. There was a noticeable drop in quality without Baleba there last night… imagine if we’d stuck a slow, L1 CB into that position instead. He’d...
He’s been fit for quite a while though… and you only get match fit by playing. It’s not stopped us giving Gomez loads of minutes despite not being match fit, for example, or stopped us starting Gruda at 10 who’s barely played all year…
To be honest, I thought the only big decision he got wrong was the Villa penalty claim first half.
Although I’ve not seen the Mitoma one back. That looked a blatant pen from the WSU.
