As someone who’s sat in the North and the West, it definitely isn’t a myth.
I almost never hear the North stand from the West, but having sat there I know that plenty of singing happens…
Saying that, not much singing happens in the West 😂
But it’s the starting position that’s the issue.
Post-Forest, that second player was deeper giving them more chance to stop the transition / counter.
Against Villa and Leicester, we’ve been back to the old way with them being higher up.
Essentially, under FH when attacking we play with one holding player and two attacking midfielders, often pushed right up against the defence, often alongside the wingers and the central striker.
The difference is positionally - 8s tend to be more box to box players, making runs from deep but...
Isn’t the issue that the same tactical mistakes are being made now, as they were at the start of the season?
We all thought, or were told, that he’d learned his tactical lessons after Forest. I thought he potentially had and came back from the “Out” camp into the “fence” camp, but the past two...
I tend to like the “I would’ve been disappointed if I’d missed that” rule.
Minteh’s early chance (not his second cross/shot one), MORs header and at least one of Adingra’s chances all fall into that category. And we scored none of them.
So you thought the guy on the right who had no end product but had two guilt edged chances produced less than the guy on the left that missed guilt edged chances and had no end product?
I assume this comment wasn’t based on yesterday’s game?
Also, JP is top of almost every attacking statistic for us, even above the Ruttner twins.
The biggest problem with him is he’s being asked to be the glue of our whole attack, even though the supporting cast seems to change every single...
I don’t disagree. But overlooking that much of that may well be down to his methods, I still think the responsibility is on him to find a system to utilise the players we have available. And if you’re missing defenders, then you set the team up to protect a weakened defence, not leave it wide open.
