This may be a little harsh but...

serious question-is "have" due to a past tense kind of thing(??),English Lit & Lan was poor & i only (not a wind up)read the Sun..... Edit:ok the Argus as well Yes - As in "I could have done better but etc" typically gets shortened to "could've" in speech which is probably where of gets...

This may be a little harsh but...

I wasn't serious in proposing a lifetime ban Jimbo. I just started my Saturday morning browsing NSC and someone saying "could of" rather than "could have" stood out. It was intended as the kind of lighthearted thread you yourself (rightly in my opinion) highlight as being one of the reasons...

(insert one of those funny @ things here) London Blue - it's your duty as a fellow ex-East Preston resident to agree. Do it for Mr Phillips , Mrs Waller , Mr Hill and all those other great guardians of primary school educashun in EP in the 60s and 70s.

This may be a little harsh but...

"Of" is not a verb. In future I'd like to propose a lifetime ban for anyone who types "could of" when they mean "could have". I appreciate this might put me at odds with the people who argue that they are more interested in content than correct grammar but someone has to take a stand. Thank...

    Holiday beers

Not really a holiday beer as such but Samuel Adams Summer Ale is a decent bet for anyone in the US of A over the summer months. In fact you can't really go too far wrong with any Samuel Adams beer. Except the Irish Red which is the devil's semen.

    Transfer funds?

Don't mean to rain on your parade Huge but there was no way there were 25-30 thousand at your first game in 1984. There were around 19000 for the FA Cup 4th round game against Liverpool (won 2-0 against the reigning champions - "rub your eyes and look at that") but for most games that season...

    Helpful for Christains

Before we embark on a theological debate I think we should at least be told what a "christain" is.

    American Kid in the V&A

Was on the point of getting defensive about the initial anti-American sentiment originally expressed here since I count myself very fortunate to live in the USA and one of my kids is , by birth , a dumb Yank (I realise that's not a direct quote by anyone on here). Pleasantly surprised to see...

Who is the worst player you have seen play for the Albion?

Anyone "of age" that doesn't answer Ashley Neal is a complete willy nose. Dishonourable mention for Willie Young for the second half capitulation at Fratton Park in 1984 but at least he had been a legend and was on the way down. How Ashley ever got a pro contract is beyond me.

VOTE for Half Man Half Biscuit and his superb European Football Weekends website

To say nothing of the fact that the man behind HFHB and EFW is a total corking chap. I'm very proud to claim him as a friend of going on for 25 years. Get voting NSC!

    Pompy take over.

Social Sausage is a man after my own heart and joins Edna K in earning my undying respect for services to hating PFC. Is there anything to be said for founding a NSC "hate PFC" clique? I'm in and would nominate Edna as chairperson.

    Pompy take over.

Allegations Antonov's interests (29.9% of the shares) in Spyker Cars were said to have delayed the purchase of Saab Automobile in late 2009. An investigation by the Swedish monetary agency Riksgälden and the Swedish security police Säpo had allegedly found connections between the Antonov family...

It appears that some of the seats from Withdean have ended up at Newhaven's ground

They are upping their capacity to cope with the demand for season tickets when they announce the signing of Michael Owen this week.

possible interest ? EASTENDERS , BBC STUDIOS , ELSTREE

Not meaning to be boring about the declining standards of written English etc but was there ever even a slight chance of "littruly" being the correct spelling of the word you were grasping for there? Very poor. Must do better.

Most famous person you have met, shook hands with and a chat

I'm not usually one to be overly abusive and I (might) apologise if either he turns out to be someone hugely impressive OR it's a joke that's going over my head but is it just me that thinks this "guess who I am - there's a clue there somewhere" game by Bobby Smith is the act of a self absorbed...

    NFL season 2012

The Jags drafted some QB with a ridiculous American name from Mizzou. My 14 year old son was quite excited by it. It took some of the sting out of the Magic getting eliminated from the NBA play offs tonight for him.
