Thanks for that.
Khadra showed a lot of promise too, but he got injured at a bad moment.
I think he needs another season out on loan as well.
His main failing was not spotting the right time to release the ball, but I'm sure that will come with more experience.
Does Ostigard's departure mean...
Blackburn Rovers supporter here again.
There are rumours circulating that we're interested in Richards too. Have you heard that at your end?
(Usual pinch of salt required, of course, because some fans are suggesting we're on the brink of securing van Hecke for another year as well, which seems...
On the subject of the "gulf", I have come round to thinking that the idea of a European Super League is not such a bad idea.
Of course, the PL would lose a lot of glamour (and money!) with MU/MC/Liv./Spurs/Ar/Chel gone, but you'd get a much more even and exciting playing-field, with more chance...
Thanks, Machiavelli, and all the others who replied.
Duffy first.
I'd like him back, but as one poster above mentioned, he did leave Rovers under a bit of a cloud last time.
JPvH certainly IS the type who would run through a wall, but he's very comfortable on the ball too.
This discussion...
Occasional visitor from Blackburn Rovers here.
Given the success of JPvH on loan at Ewood last season, I wondered about the possibility of getting Haydon Roberts on a similar deal.
Is he good enough to do well in the Championship?
Some Rovers supporters are talking wistfully of buying van Hecke...
Hugo Rune - you mention the possibility of Duffy being sold to Blackburn.
I'd have no problem with that, but it would NOT be popular with some Rovers supporters.
There are quite a few who believe he deliberately scored own-goals and engineered his own sending off to speed up a move, last time he...
Lower down the the scale, we've tried to do the same thing.
Five of our regulars this season came through our Academy.
Hayden Carter has done very well on loan with Portsmouth, and he is another who is expected to be in first-team contention next season.
To be honest, without a successful...
I think that might be considered a higher risk!
Like lots of skillful wingers, he does seem to blow hot and cold.
Above all, he needs to learn when to look up!
Rovers fan once more.
Thanks for the replies.
This definitely feels like a soap called "How The Other Half Lives"!
How many players worth millions have you actually had out on loan?!
Actually, Rovers have triggered the extra year in Brereton Diaz's contract.
However, I think the club would prefer to sell him this summer, rather than let him go on a free, this time next year.
There is talk of 15 million, but I reckon that's pushing it.
I think a lot of us at Blackburn would...
Blackburn Rovers supporter back again!
Glancing through the threads, I see that a couple of people have mentioned Alzate going out on loan next season.
Is that a serious possibility?
No idea yet who our new manager will be (about 100 names mentioned so far), but we definitely need an extra...
I definitely think JPvH has more to offer from the point of view of playing the ball out of defence creatively.
Also he has made quite a number of 40/50 yard runs with the ball. He has decent close control for such a gangly bloke, and the confidence to go with it.
Interesting that you should mention Shane Duffy.
When he was at Blackburn, I didn't really think he was PL standard, but he's done well.
By coincidence, Darragh Lenihan is almost certainly leaving us this summer.
I'd put him at about the same level Duffy was at when he departed. Again, I'm not...
I am very happy to take that line if it means we can keep him!
The only realistic possibility, though, is that your coaches decide he's not ready yet and allow him to return to Blackburn for another year's loan.
As we have a new manager arriving, though, that's probably less likely.

I think BBD would be a risk in the PL, but I suspect someone will take it!
When we get towards the end of a "window", money starts flying about.
One thing about Ben is that he could certainly be used as a "second striker". He takes a lot of marking, and that creates space for...
The first thing is, he is NOT a target-man.
Indeed, he's not particularly at ease with his back to goal.
His preferred style is to run at defenders - often from outside the penalty-area (especially on the left)
He has a fair turn of speed, and people shouldn't be put off by his rather clumsy...
