Well you learn something every day, I thought the English generally used the Latin derivative from autumnus - autumn. I'll stop cussing English people when I hear them using fall in future. You'll be telling me that gotten is ok in English next!

I think you'll find "fall" is an Americanism, but clearly wouldn't work as a witty rememberance aid if substituted with Autumn...! :D
