First joined in 1999-00 as Zimmy while working in Aberdeen and posted a bit - lots of friendly chats between the same 10 or so posters. It was then everyone was raving about a loan signing from Bristol Rovers called Bobby something or other and how he would fire us to promotion if we signed him...
As a writer I may have a vested interest, but feel the Albion Mag is getting better and better... huge congrats to Dan Tester for his skill, perseverance and management of a diverse team, united by our love of the Albion.
Oh no.... I knew Ed was ill a few years ago and swapped notes with him by email, but thought he was better or at least in remission. What a huge shock. Thoughts and love with Roz and his children.... Newport County for ever! x
It's a very plain typical Northern/Midlands town pub. Has Sky Sports TV and Banks beer. My friend says it serves the best Guinness in the West Midlands - I don't drink Guinness!
Anyone going to Wolves? It is my home match of the season! Gavin, a friend of a friend is landlord of the Combermere Arms and has made his pub an away pub for the day! It is a small pub with good beer and sandwiches just off the A41 roundabout beyond the giant Sainsbury's and close to the Banks...
Thanks guys ... in essence that is what I was researching: the real cost of following the Albion over 50 years.
For instance in 1967, in comparison the average house price was £2,530, a loaf of bread was 5p and a season ticket to see 1st Division champions Manchester United cost £8.50.
The real...
Thanks. I had a gut feeling it was Kit, but couldn't be 100% sure. Even better to know it was!
Anyone have any ideas of ground admission back then? - 49 years is a bloody long time, though things about that that first match still seems fresh, such as the weather, the chants for Charlie Livesey...
Can anybody help me with a bit of research?
My first Albion game was on 2 September 1967 – a 1-0 home win against Bury at the Goldstone in front of 13,413. I can remember loads about the day (I was just 11) including the fact that Bury were captained by Bobby Collins who ran the show until we...
That is twice I have not been impressed with the Amex tickets staff - both times a young sounding guy who was quite curt. The earlier one was against Wolves at Molineux last September when their ticket office bent over backwards to try and get me tickets on the Friday before the game, but had to...
We had telephoned earlier in the day (as we live just 15 miles from St Andrews) and told by the Amex ticket staff that it was SOLD OUT and there was no POTD
I live only 95 miles from Preston. Not too late to drive up and get a ticket in the home end and wave a Brighton shirt everytime Ashley Barnes is near.
Went with my partner and son to the Birmingham match two weeks ago without tickets as it was "sold out". We bought Home tickets from their ticket office in the section adjoining the Brighton section. Then 10 mins into the game persuaded a steward that we had been sold tickets for the wrong...
Worried this may happen after Charlton's confirmed relegation last night: http://intothevalley.proboards.com/thread/19089/protest-group-latest-updates?page=11
