I really don't think that many quality strikers like our style of play, which is why we struggle to get anyone decent in, despite fantastic crowds and a great stadium. Strikers will always be a problem for Gus I fear, his track record with them is not good and it's not all just bad luck.
One that is relevant on here was a reply from Bill Archer after I wrote asking why an man, wealthy and getting on in years would want to destroy a football club, I asked didn't he have any hobbies or anything he could enjoy filling his remaining days with after accumulating so much money, rather...
Yep think all gamblers have tried this at one time in their evolution but you have to know when to quit as greed will always kill you in the end.
There was a guy who cracked roulette but he used a team of 6 players at one table, (hard to do in busy casinos) each playing a game different type of...
This 100%, if the football authorities are so worried about standing (which is presumably why BHA stewards are being so over the top at some games) then having half the ground standing during the biggest Uk game in years, which is also televised around the world is not sending a good message and...
I've just looked at the new season ticket prices and can't see anything for the new corner sections - are the club being sneeky knowing they will probably sell be able these sections easier that any where else, thus keeping them for match by match tickets and with the north stand already sold...
Everyone take a look around at the amazing complexity of life on this planet, then look out there at the rest of our solar system and universe beyond. Maybe it's just a chance in a billion that we have an atmosphere which makes all this life possible and that it all grew from a primordial swamp...
Fantastic effort - I wanted to find a way of using 'Change for Change', as when out shopping or nights out a lot of people find copper coins 1p/2p's just a pain to carry round but everyone I spoke to, supermarkets/airlines etc already had their own charities, so now I collect them and donate to...
Agent says she was about to get some very good modeling offers (possibly Europe or USA), so maybe she wanted to leave South Africa and him!! Was he just the guy who gave her a higher profile and 'leg up' in her career, then like OJ Simpson his ego couldn't handle rejection.
Poor guy, I too had a similar injury which virtually finished my playing days but at least I was over 30, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Coming down off Scafell Pike in the lake district, I was looking for a quick route back to the campsite to avoid missing the coach home (there was a strict 3pm cut off). I dropped into a gully at the bottom of which was a small but wild river with a sheer 70ft rockface on the otherside, being...
Sounds like £60/70+ increase next season on a £430 ST, they will have to be careful and expect to lose 2-3k season ticket holders if the increase is too high. A lot of those non ST holders won't buy tickets for the less attractive fixtures either, so I expect to see 20k gates for some games...
The wages are undoubtedly too high, as so many clubs are in debt and that's purely down to wages and transfer fees. As players are always saying how short the career is, so they need the huge sums, I would put half of their wages (possibly more for premiership players) into a retirement fund...
Amazing how businessmen, who have made billions leave their brains at home when they buy football clubs, QPR are a nice small (family club), it's all they will ever be, they have a small fanbase and small ground (by prem standards) and no amount of money will change that, bar about a billion...
Crazy, he took them from div one to the prem in 2 years ffs but just the way the game is going, like Gus has stated I'm sure the owners at Saints realize the stupid transfer fees and wages demanded by English players put them out of the market, so they need someone with a good knowledge of the...
Is this problem just a UK or worldwide re: clubs losing money, how do the German leagues fare I wonder they usually have a good grasp of economics, while in the UK we frequently pissed money against the wall, like their is no tomorrow. If it's a worldwide, then the players wages are the problem...
This, the way we play will not suit many strikers. Leicester's style of play suits him perfectly, top 2 finish for them I'm sure and Wood will punish us (again) when they come here.
If the other tv companies had a compulsory tv tax I'm sure they could also spend ten million+ on making it too.
It is a good show but never forget the BBC has a massive advantage financially, so they are not THAT wonderful - take last night's Skywatching, sending Prof. Cox to some tropical...
