Been to Boa Vista twice. There
is very little to do outside the hotels. But if you want a totally relaxing holiday then it's recommended. Beaches are amazing but normally too rough to swim. Trips out are usually on the back of a pick up.
If you are going to Boa Vista I can thoroughly recommend VB tours for any excursion you may want to do. Had a great quad biking trip with them last year. Look then up on Facebook or Instagram.

Nott sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Mrs Heffle has just had a gout episode. It cleared quite quickly after cutting tomatoes from her diet. May be worth considering if you eat a lot of them.
That is an urban myth. There was a strong temperance movement in the town. But there was also a pub in the middle of the town - The Heathfield Hotel (where sainsburys is now). This was demolished in the early 80's and never replaced.
