    [Albion] Charlie Oatway Interview

Could only stand a few minutes of that before I had to switch off.

[Football] VAR, 6 years in - Keep it or bin it?

One thing I must add is that when I watch a game as a "neutral" I don't mind VAR much and may even applaud the "technically correct" decision. But that's because I'm not invested emotionally in it. And football caters mostly for TV viewers now ....and i'd bet that many millions of those fans...

[Football] VAR, 6 years in - Keep it or bin it?

Bin it purely because I have lost some of the joy of celebrating a goal. I preferred being annoyed about a "wrong" decision after the event. I expect AI will go on to ruin the human game of football further.

[Misc] Participants wanted in research RE :- Experiences of the criminal justice system in the UK as a mother

This is a bit niche I know 😄 but a family member is looking for participants in research, to complete her doctoral thesis. If you know anyone who may be interested can you please forward the details below to them, many thanks. Mums with Criminal Justice System Experience in the Last 10...

[Football] Are you going to watch the Cup Final?

I love football because of the glory, the drama and the panto villains, so..... I shall definitely be watching this one! Cheering madly for City without any irony (normally can't stand them). I hope Grealish plays as I used to dislike him but now changed my mind, so come on Jacko play a...

[Football] Bradford Fire 40 Years Ago

Yes I remember that day and the film. When we had a "fire safety" video at work that showed it pretty much in full some 30 years later, I had to walk out because of the emotions. Shockingly sad day.

[Albion] If we let a 300+ games player leave on a free to Real Madrid...

When my girlfriends have dumped me.... I've always boo-ed them when passing on the street 🤷‍♂️

    [Albion] Albion supporter Pete Griffin

Didn't know this chap but do recognise the scarf. Saddened to hear one of our fans pass, especially at too young an age. RiP.

    [News] Sycamore Gap Tree

You'd think people who do this kind of work would appreciate and love nature but in my, admittedly limited experience of them, they often seem to just like...... being destructive.

[Albion] York City 1996: What was your experience?

Hang on a minute isn't this different seasons? The 4-4 Orient was my last game at the Goldstone before I went off backpacking. York was season before when were relegated? Goes off to check Google v memory.... edit - sorry, brain fog. I gotcha.

As my American friend used to say Fuckin A, Man! I've never forgotten that clip.

[Albion] York City 1996: What was your experience?

I don't remember that much about the first game (obviously as it didn't last long!). I was a good boy and stayed in the North and watched as I was worried that getting nicked would affect my job. Was there a clip of a fan on the pitch that was on a tv clip that said an emotional "I LOVE the...

    [Politics] Well done Kier

The "deals" with the USA and India are complex and confusing to laymen so I imagine "you see what you want to see", as usual really when it comes to politics.

[Film] What's the most thought provoking/controversial film you've watched?

The Hunt with Mads Mikkelsen, I used to work in an environment where staff were vulnerable to false accusations (thankfully not children). Eden Lake, made me over think this type of situation for a while.

[Albion] 2024/25 Albion Outstanding Contribution Award: Dick Knight

Glad the club have done this while he's still alive. Deserves a Knighthood, in reality. Only time I've been in his presence he was losing his shit with the ticket office staff at Hove station, so it wasn't the moment for me to say Cheers Mate 😀 An Albion God.

[Football] Wenger proposes changes to the offside rule due to VAR

Changes, changes, changes how is my pee brain going to keep up? V strange that a technology is brought into the game and then continual adjustments made as we bumble, make it up as we go along. Clueless leadership.

    [Food] Chili/hot sauces

According to Zoe, your stomach microbiome love chili pepper so I do try to always have some hot sauce in the fridge. I'm cheap n cheerful so current favourite is a Lidl peri peri ripoff that I love adding in quantity to my beans on toast.

    [Albion] Thank you John Keeley

Seem to remember he wasn't a big keeper but certainly a "springy" one. One of the team from my first season 87/88, I can probably still name that whole squad. Fantastic memories.
