It was right after we had signed Turienzo, and McGhee has hinted McCammon had no future at the club after the bust up.
I'll try and dig out the exact quote :)
Playmaker, averaging six goals a season for Luton in League One, known to pull the strings and tough in the tackle. Still a young player yet with 100 plus league games under his belt, including in The Championship with Leeds. Part of a squad of players who went on to win promotion to The...
Anyone remember the Sunderland game last season; scored a header from a corner. Those who saw 'The Championship' should remember seeing Mark McGhee's face, I don't think he could believe it, he was laughing with a confused expression on his face. Doesn't that sum it up?
What you must remember...
Well I don't deny we'd have to be shrewd..
For example, this season;
Matthew Spring [Leeds - Watford] £150,000
Clarke Carlisle [Leeds - Watford] £100,000
Either of those would play regularly in our first team. Maybe Elton John was the big attraction. :jester:
I must admit even 'unflappable' Andrew Hawes was a little confused by Mark McGhee's substitution.. bringing off, from Hawes' commentary our liveliest player Carole, a right winger, for Albert Jarrett, a left winger, reshuffling your midfield accordingly, amazingly it works, and then looking...
I must say, I think you are being a tad harsh on the fella who opened this thread; whilst he is a bit gullible (always hurling obscenities at the wind-up merchants of the board), he does have a point.
CKR was a risk, £250k for a future prospect, when our team desperately needed strengthening to...
Isn't this all old bollocks?
I seem to remember the boo-boys HATED Michel Kuipers, much like they do Henderson, for the first few months he was here. Remember Kuipers carrying the ball over the line at home to Hartlepool? Flapping at crosses?
It's all nonsense. Keepers are confidence players...
At the danger of sounding snobbish, the majority of football fans will not be fans of Shakespeare, or of theatre in general. It is a taste, class and patience issue. It is impossible to have an entirely varied taste, everybody has dislikes, and as football and traditional theatre are like chalk...
Really? as a football lover I could happily sit and watch any competitive game. that's like saying you wouldn't watch the World Cup unless England were in it. (which they won't be past the first round :lolol: )
Is Flitney that goalkeeper? Whatever happened to Adam Bryant, he looked superb on the few occasions I saw him.
Also, he can't do any worse than when Nicky Rust played for Barnet, made one appearance and they lost 7-1, Rust at fault for 6 of them..
It is obvious that the Preston away fixture is going to be one of the hardest of the season, but did we not say that about Derby on the opening day? I think that a match like this could bring the best out of the players. I certainly think that they will be more 'up for it' than Shrewsbury away.
Having not seen the lad play myself, but listening to others and reading reviews/his profile etc he sounds absolutely ideal for our 4-5-1 system. Bear in mind the risk involved in bringing in Argentinian players, he might come good (Ricky Villa, Ozzie Ardiles) or he might be a complete flop...
