Yes and the fans of the oldest football club in the world trot that misinformation out all the time.
I've heard that because Palace was quoted in Samuel Pepy's diary they can trace their origins back to 1665. :)

Probably been mentioned on here before but won’t the crazy Greek at forest feel his team should get the Europa spot given he placed his shares in Olympiakos in a holding fund to avoid any issues.

If I were him I’d be livid if palace can ignore the policy and get away with it.
He doesn't really need an excuse to be livid so I reckon that maybe a yes.

I think that this is the main problem for Palace.

Several clubs have now had to change their structures to abide by EUFAs rules, including our own Tony Bloom. Even if EUFA decide that Palace will be allowed to compete in the Europa League, I can see a lot of very disgruntled multi club owners who have previously abided by the rules, and these gentlemen are aren’t likely to take EUFA backtracking for Palace lying down.

I think it is outrageous that the European Univesity Film Awards are dictating how European football clubs are run. That should be the remit of UEFA.

It’s his Forest shares he places into a blind trust. This is why his running onto the pitch to argue with Nuno was potentially very ill advised. He shouldn’t be getting involved with anything happening at Forest.

This has been covered. When they finished 3rd that wasn't a European qualification placing. Surprising now, but in that season it was simply close but no cigar.
England's coefficient had returned to zero after the originally indefinite, eventually five year ban from Europe that followed the Heysel Tragedy. When English clubs were readmitted in 1990/91 they got only one place in the UEFA Cup because of the coefficient. Villa went to the Uefa Cup and Man Utd to the Cup Winners Cup. Liverpool's ban was not lifted and they were disqualified from the European Cup. Nobody replaced them. England simply didn't have a representative that season.

The following year Liverpool finished second and their ban of an additional three years was reduced to one meaning that they qualified for the UEFA Cup. Palace were third and they had a chance of taking the place if the Liverpool ban had continued. Palace weren't refused entry, they didn't qualify, but almost got in by the back door.

I don’t think it means he can have nothing to do with the club, on a supporter type level, just he has no input in the running of the club.

Tony Bloom had to rearrange his USG shares, but, he was still in Belgium to celebrate USGs Championship win.

Running onto the pitch to have a go at the manager is not on a supporter level. It’s on an ownership level, he simply shouldn’t be doing that as he’s making a mockery of the whole blind trust.

I thought it went back further than that?
