But won't the Supreme Court judges (some of whom he appointed) just be sacked and he'll just appoint MAGA clones with no legal background instead? After all, he has already done that with health and dismissed many senior military commanders who disagreed / argued with him (as did Stalin and Hitler. Just saying!)
I thought, possibly incorrectly, judges were appointed for life or until they decide to retire meaning they can't be sacked.

correct. or impeached, which would be a stretch even for current congress. you'd need some grounds for a start, upsetting the orange one wouldn't cut it. foundation of US is on seperate executive, legislative and judical authority with none in full power, counter-balanced by the others.

His response. I quite like the question 'where do these judges come from' - he appointed one of them. But it looks as though he then tries to explain how he came to appoint a judge that subsequently didn't agree with him.

He also still seems to think that putting tariffs on imports means that other countries pay money to the USA. He still doesn't get that it's the US consumer that pays!

And he finally shows what he thinks of elected congressmen/women.

I've no evidence for this conclusion, but surely there's no way he (or possibly anyone else) is thinking of all of that, let alone typing it all out, so it's gotta be ChatGPT, right?

I just attempted it and it wasn't bad:

"The radical lunatics and globalist puppets in Washington want to BAN TARIFFS — one of the greatest tools a President has to PROTECT American workers, businesses, and farmers. DISASTER! Under my administration, we used tariffs brilliantly. I made CHINA pay — not us, THEM! BILLIONS and BILLIONS poured into the U.S. Treasury. Nobody had ever done it before. Biden doesn’t understand it. The fake economists said it would hurt us — WRONG! We rebuilt industries, saved steel, saved auto, SAVED THE COUNTRY. But now they want to go back to the FAILED policies of the past. Open borders, open trade, open wallets — for EVERYBODY but the American people. Our leaders are WEAK, STUPID, and OWNED by foreign interests. I fought for YOU, I took on China, Europe, Mexico — EVERYONE — and we WON. They don’t want tariffs because they want America to be LAST, not FIRST. With NO tariffs, we are just a piggy bank for other countries to ROB. I say NO MORE. We will bring back tariffs BIGGER and STRONGER than ever before. FAIR TRADE not FREE TRADE. AMERICA FIRST, not CHINA first!!! We had it right — now they’re DESTROYING it. November 2024 will be the most important election in history. We will TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK, bring back strong borders, STRONG TARIFFS, and make America RICH again!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #TRUMP2024 #MAGA #AmericaFirst #SaveAmerica"

Theres absolutely no way that came from the chubby little fingers, or arsehole shaped mouth, of Donald Trump.
Willing to bet my house on it.

I think you're right - it's too well written to be Trump. But presumably he approves things that go out in his name on his platform. He probably added the capital letters!

My experiment – under the instruction 'Write a very very long tweet in the style of Donald Trump ranting about tariffs being banned' even does that for you.

And it KNOWS it's doing it, too:

"ChatGPT said:
Sure! Here's an extra-long, highly stylized tweet in Donald Trump's ranting tone, channeling his trademark style — full of caps, repetition, blame, praise for himself, and a healthy dose of grievance:"

If I received something like that via email or whatever, I do a quick scan before reading the whole thing...
"Thank you for your attention to this matter"

What is that even, that kind of sign off tells me all I need to know.

I would not bother reading it to be honest, and I have not on this occasion.

Scarily accurate. Makes you wonder if everything thats posted to TS is done that way. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

OK - but it is the Executive branch which appoints the Judicial branch so there really isn't any "counter-balance" is there if the tangerine toddler is making his own "picks" to sit on the Supreme Court bench. Of the 9 current judges four were Trump appointed MAGA clones. So he only needs one to die, resign or be "persuaded" and he controls the majority of the Supreme Court judges.

Very dodgy system

Take one dictator, hand-pick your judges who you know will be compliant, and off you go. (It has been done at least once before. By Hitler in the 1930s.)

Nor me. Mine was a very crude, quick and general request. With a bit of fine-tuning by someone with the time and will to be bothered, they could get it spot on. I think you can spot to genuine Trump 'Truths' by the typos!

It's difficult to keep up with the lunacy coming from the USA, and all its ramifications. Taxing foreign owners of US assets seems the latest with a bill in progress now. This would allow Trump to tax, for example, non US-owned US treasury bonds. That'll encourage inward investment!

From FT https://www.ft.com/content/b400009a-9a0e-4ee0-b6ed-2a25c2de0d8f

Section 899 of the bill that the House of Representatives passed last week would allow the US to impose additional taxes on companies and investors from countries that it deems to have punitive tax policies.

This is one thing they teach in high school that even the MAGA people just possibly might remember.

On second thought they wouldn't remember.

The judges are approved by the Senate.
