Its the original ! . the rest were built to that design .I went to the SOL in 2004. It’s an identikit stadium, think Reading or Leicester, with red seats.

Rule 1 of holidays, check international break weeks. The Mrs has just announced that she has booked a holiday for us in October.
I didn’t say how many seats. It just looks very similar, with no features.
must have been very drunk because Zamora was playing for West Ham by thenI saw us play at the stadium of light in the early noughties. Zamora was sent off. We lost.
Edit: oh and I seem to recall @The Clown of Pevensey Bay was ver ver drunk.![]()
feel like Middlesbrough's was probably the first? Its the original ! . the rest were built to that design .
I didn't like it. It's a matter of opinion. It definitely isn't an identikit stadium. Two tiered above the main stand and behind one of the goals for starters makes it very different.
I remember really liking it the last we played there. Foggy day. Decent atmosphere. Felt like a proper football game in the North East. Shame Brighton were so shit.
I did the same - but have absolutely no memory of the ground or the match! Was there in 2004. Think we did train to Newcastle and Metro to Sunderland. Ground is right near a station anyway.
Yeh sadly Sunderland doesn't have a huge amount going for it. A lot more to do in NewcastleWas there in 2004. Think we did train to Newcastle and Metro to Sunderland. Ground is right near a station anyway. Decent stadium, but wasn't overly impressed with the area around it. Might have changed in 20 years I suppose. Will aim to be back next season.
So two Readings - which is not a nice thought.Capacity of SoL : 49,000
Capacity of Reading : 24,000
You're quite right.must have been very drunk because Zamora was playing for West Ham by then
Area immediately around the station isn't up to much, but there are some decent pubs etc. around Sunderland (not sure what the situation is on match day). Was there in 2004. I believe it was OldhamYou're quite right.
Can you remind me which away game Zamora got red carded?
I could have sworn it was at Sunderland.
I know he got a red card at Scunthorpe in the FA Cup, only time I’ve been there, and no regrets at not returning. You're quite right.

Presumably the referee was, on the day, the man who put the second to fifth letters in Scunthorpe.I know he got a red card at Scunthorpe in the FA Cup, only time I’ve been there, and no regrets at not returning.
It’s a nice stadium, definitely not an identikit one. Great atmosphere there when it is full. It’s a great city as well. It’s had a lot of investment in the last few years and there’s some great pubs.
City centre has had some money recently, granted, the high street isn't great, but there are some fantastic pubs well within walking distance of the ground. Was there in 2004.
