Hi, I'm Pete's brother Chris. I know he said he knew a lot of fans, but it has been great reading just how many people remember him. We will be organizing the funeral, and I will endeavour to put details out so people who want to can come.
I will be letting his daughter know just what the response here has been. Thanks to everyone for making this whole period ever so slightly easier.

One thing I would ask - he did say to me he'd made plans about his scarf, but then never actually told me what those plans were. Is there anyone here who knows more details? I would love to think that his scarf keeps going to the games as a sort of 'spiritual anchor'. He also wanted to do something with all his memorabilia (presumably including the pink goalkeeping shirt). Again, if he spoke to anyone, or anyone has any ideas, please do reach out to me

regards
Chris
So sorry for your family’s loss Chris. Peter spoke to me about a couple of things, I tried to DM you but it wouldn’t let me, perhaps when you can you could message me.
❤️❤️

Such sad news. Back in the day, as Berkshire Seagull, he was one of the stalwarts on here. I had the pleasure of finally meeting Pete at one of the ‘NSC sponsored games’ at Withdean, when football, life and the world in general seemed a far more simple and carefree place. Happy days.

Rest in Peace, Berkshire Seagull.

Hi Chris,
First up, so very sorry for your loss. Please do let Pete's daughter know how well her dad was thought of amongst us 'legacy fans' He was one of the good guys. Regarding his badges, I think he mentioned leaving them to the club museum. I suggested an alternative to him, Facebook group 'The Brighton Room' a shrine to all manner of Albion memorabilia. Many on here will have visited that shrine in person and will readily vouch for it. It's wonderful! Happy to put you in touch with the organiser if you'd like, or you can contact him directly via The Brighton Room Facebook page. Best wishes at this very sad time

❤️❤️
New members can’t send or receive PMs initially and I can’t enable it myself. I think it has to be @Bozza

Do you guys have each other’s number or do you want me to WhatsApp the boss & see what he can do?

I didn’t know Pete well but certainly saw him around with his badges, and he knew many of the same people I do by the looks of things. RIP fellow seagull 😟

Gutted to hear this news. Pete was an Albion and REMF legend and a genuinely lovely guy. Here he is in his famous pink top with some of us REMF lads.

RIP brother - a top guy who was also a top father and loved his daughter. Much love.

With the approval of Pete's family Pete's legendary scarf and badges will be actioned with the proceeds going to the BHAFC Fondation, a charity he would have appoved of. This will allow Pete's memory to carry on with a fellow Seagulls fan for future BHAFC games and their trips home and away. I will start the auction at a later date

My Tribute to Pete x

It was with great sadness I heard of the passing on of my great friend Pete Griffin

Pete was a lifelong devoted Brighton and Hove Albion fan and season ticket holder for many years in the north stand

He was a true gent and was the REMF Goalkeeper for many years helping to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to help support sports for under 16s across the World

He became famous for his Brighton scarf with hundreds of bhafc club badges going back many years

He was a huge Peter Ward fan and became great friends with Peter and his wife Jacqueline which was of immense pride and joy to him

There will be a minutes applause in the stadium on the 49th minute to remember and honour to send Pete off, a Seagull flying high

I didn't know Pete personally, but I certainly remember Berkshire Seagull on here from back in the Gory Years. A wry, knowledgable and familiar poster, always worth reading. I always feel something of a jolt when I learn of one of our own passing on here, even if I've never met them. Such sad news.

RIP fella.

I will post the funeral details on here as soon as they are in place.

It would be great to see as many of us there, to remember a respected member of the Albion family ❤️
